The Eternal Carp

One month later

It has been a month since our trip to Kirigakure. As of now, I'm in the academy getting ready for our genin exam. Looking next to me I could see Shikadai and Inojin studying, while two rows above them I could see Sarada studying and ChoCho eating her chips. In front of me, I could see Denki helping Iwabe study while Metal was studying on his own. Looking to my right, from behind me I could see Mitsuki studying, and sometimes he would look at me. And behind me, I could see Sumire, Wasabi, and Namida helping each other studying. 

But what am I doing well you can say that I'm studying and sleeping at the same time. Nah, just kidding I fell asleep as usual. Thankfully Shikadai would cover me and hide me from Shino sensei. But that was four hours ago and now I'm getting bored with all this studying. Well, I hope there's something to do.

Time Skip

After a few lame hours of studying our academy bell rang signaling our day is over. When I was walking towards the academy gates I was stopped by my friends. They asked me to join them at this recently named place called "Grillby's". They said that it was recently called Thunder Burger but it wasn't recognized due to its simple name. But they decided that they'll move to a different part of the city and rename themselves.

I decided to agree to go with them as I to was curious about what this "Grillby's" was. While we were walking, I could hear my friends talking about the Kage meeting that's taking place here. 'Huh, dad's meeting some people today. *sigh* Guess I won't see him anytime soon' I thought as we were walking in front of a mix of a bookstore and a bar. Looking at the name of the place, wouldn't you know it, was named Grillby's. 

Walking inside the place I could see that it was an actual bar. Looking around nervously I could see two booths on the right side of the building. And to my left are three regular tables that I could see some heavy looking dudes playing 21 or poker. And in front of me was a row of bar stools and in front of it was a long table and a bartender seemed to be cleaning a pint. 

"Guys this is an actual bar, kids shouldn't be here at all," I said before grabbing my friends.

"What's wrong Boruto, this seems like a regular restaurant here" Denki claimed to look at me confused.

"Look around you guys, look at the people here. This is an adult place where people drink away their life savings and gamble their monthly checks here" I responded.

"Hey what are you kids doing here, no kids are allowed here" claimed the bartender.

Getting everyone in the room's attention I quickly spoke "Sorry we're not here to cause any trouble, we're just looking for a place to eat".

"Are you sure you're here for the food? If I find you stealing my alcohol then you arse is ours" he threatened looking at us.

Seeing my friends sweating I agreed that we were not going to steal alcohol. He nodded before claiming "Alright I believe you, I'll serve you but you better not come back here again. We don't serve kids".

We all nodded in agreement before taking a seat in one of the booths. Looking at my friends, which they all gulped nervously, I whispered "Your lucky that I'm here or else you would've gotten your asses kicked until next morning". They apologized and then the bartender came back and took our orders and drinks. As we were waiting my friend noticed a TV showing live footage of the Kage meeting in front of the Hokage tower. 

*gasp* "Oh my kami, the Kage meeting. I can't believe we almost forgot about it. Look the first one arriving in the sand is the Kazekage, Garra along with his brother/bodyguard Kankuro." Denki declared looking at the TV in awe.
