Monday, also known as the worst day of the week. Unfortunately for every student and adult, this day marked the end of summer vacation.
Throwing his pillow at his alarm clock which was ringing nonstop for six in the morning, MK yawned as he stretched out his arms and legs on his comfortable mattress.
MK threw his legs over his bed, landing them on the floor as he got up and walked over to his bedroom's window. He opened it smiling at the city below him. "Good morning beautiful city of mine!" He said to no one in particular as he took in the early morning view.
Satisfied with his daily greeting to the city, MK proceeded to walk off in the direction of his bathroom to freshen up for the day.
He brushed his teeth, making sure not to brush them too lightly or too hard, brushed up his hair with his regular hair gel, and finally slipping on his signature white shirt and yellow sweater. He skipped down the stairs, entering the noodle shop part of the half house half restaurant.
"Morning MK." MK's adoptive father, Pigsy, smiles at him brightly while giving his usual morning greeting. The restaurant doesn't open until 8 AM, yet Tang, Pigsy's friend of some sort and MK's local story teller, is already sitting at the counter eating a bowl of Pigsy's delicious noodles.
"Good morning Pigsy, morning Mr Tang! Got another tale about the Monkey King to tell me about?" MK asked excitedly with stars practically in his eyes.
"I got some for you, but they'll have to wait for after you're done with your classes. Speaking of school, you'll be late if you don't head out now." Tang replied, looking up at the clock behind the counter to see that it's already 7:20.
Pigsy hands MK his bookbag and lunchbox, MK took a piece of toast out of the toaster, putting it in his mouth before grabbing the items and heading out the door with a muffled: "Mank you! Bfye!".
Running down the streets of the city, MK did the classic anime girl with toast in her mouth run to school to once again get started on another day of learning. As he neared the school gates he swallowed down the last remaining portion of the toast, spotting Mei and Red Son, his best friends, up ahead.
"Hey MK, you're just on time!" Mei exclaims, waving at MK as he runs up to the two of them. "You're five minutes early to school this time, impressive." Red Son compliments(?). "I think I take too long to do my hair, I'll try to be earlier tomorrow." Mk replies to the snobby compliment(?), adjusting his bookbag to properly be on his back.
"If you payed any attention to Mr Dareth's classes, then you'd know how to brush your hair in less than five minutes and style it in less than three minutes." Mei says, showing off her perfectly styled black hair with green streaks in it.
The three of them walked into the school, nearly dodging their seven colour coded classmates that are usually up to no good.
"Those fools are always getting into some sort of trouble, have they learnt nothing from Mr Ronin's 'how to NOT get arrested' lectures?" Red Son complained, dusting himself off.
"You actually listen to him?" Mei asks Red Son in shock, to which she is met with a raging red boy.
"Of course I listen to him! He's escaped going to prison ten times and knows his way around the local prison for some reason." Red states, contemplating that last part. "Actually, I think he's been to prison at least four times."
Before MK could deliver a snarky roast to Red Son's seriousness, the bell rang for class, signalling that everyone needs to hurry up before it rings again.
"I'll see you guys at lunch!" MK dismisses himself from the conversation, waving at them before running off in the direction of his class.
MK's first class had been a total snooze fest, Mrs Nya's gardening classes were always so boring. The woman never stopped talking about water! It's suppose to be a class about plants, yet the teacher only talks about water, rivers, streams, and oceans.
And Mr Cole's class was no better. All he did was explain ores, earth, rocks, even more rocks... At least MK got to learn a bit about plants in that class since Mr Cole had been thoroughly explaining the effects of good soil, but it was still boring nonetheless.
Mr Sandy's class was tolerable enough. The buff teacher had kept lots of cats around his classroom, which might be a safety hazard, but they're cute so the school lets it slide. MK enjoyed playing around with the cats, half listening to his teacher explain the effects of tea on the body.
Mr Kai's class was the coolest of all of the classes he's had so far, especially since his class got to spend the whole period in the gym training with wooden swords. MK got to finally show off some of his self taught moves. He was even able to make that snobby kid, Lloyd, pay for messing up his desk the last time school was open by knocking him on the head with the end of a wooden sword.
MK was currently making his way towards the cafeteria, avoiding the rush of the other students who were eager to fill their stomachs. He walked in and sat at his usual table, the one in the middle of the cafeteria. MK took the lunch that Pigsy had packed him out of his backpack, placing the lunchbox on the table.
Mei and Red Son sat beside him on either side just as he was beginning to open his lunchbox. MK gave them both a questioning look. "You guys are usually here before me, what happened?"
Mei placed her dragon themed lunchbox on the table, letting out a huff of breath as her lip twitched up in a smirk. "The spider group was trying to take some kid's money, so I kicked their butts and told them to screw off."
Red Son looked unamused as he practically slammed his red lunchbox onto the table, opening it and taking a rather rude bite out of his spicy sandwich before speaking. "I was doing some extra credit, it never hurts to have a grade that is above average. You two should try it sometime instead of being so reckless."
MK smiled at his friend's jab at their past trouble making. "It was one time, I swear!" He claimed, pulling out his chopsticks to eat the noodles from the thermos flask that was in his lunchbox. Mei nods in agreement, having MK defend both of their actions from last year.
Red Son glared daggers into them both. "MK, you hung Lloyd by his stupid cape on a spiked gate. Mei, you literally tried to murder the spider group's leader. These both happened five times last year, not one time." Red Son shook his head.
Mei giggled, taking a sip of her green drink before taking a playful chomp out of her large steamed dumpling. "Okay, you got a point there Red. But we can't just ignore the fact that you almost set the school on fire ten times last year. On purpose."
Red Son faced MK to avoid her gaze. "I did no such thing! MK, tell Mei I did no such thing." MK glanced at Red and then at Mei, he tried to hold back his laugh as he addressed Mei. "He did no such thing!"
Mei broke out into laughter, causing MK to do the same. Red Son grumbled at them before laughing the hardest out of the three of them.
Maybe this year won't be so bad after all.
Noodle left wattpad so that means I'm on my own now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
