Look At Me Now

21 3 2

You over there,

The one who had once upon a time,

Pulled my chair,

And laughed,

While my cheeks were red,

Hands shaking,

Akward laughs,

Swallowing lumps,

You laughed.

But look at me now.

Cheeks red with a slight blush;

Flattered by friends,

Mock me,

They do,

But with love.

Hands shake?

Of course,

Don't you know,

I'm performing tomorrow.

Swallow lumps?

Yes, how else would I palate the loads

And loads of treats and smile-worthy words my friends and family give me?

Now you there, the one who had ineve yelled at me

Who had told me I wasn't good enough.

Made me the substitute of the team, had you not?

Told the coach it was I who didn't wish to play?

Who had made rude comments

Behind my back

And soon in front of my face.

No.

NO.

I remember, I RMEMBER what you had said that day.

Still today, I remember.

When you had yelled at me,

Said all those things,

In my head,

I imagined myself.

Yelling...

No, SCREAMING, in YOUR FACE.

And I knew,

I KNEW what I had to say that day

But out if my mouth

Came bit a single

Lingering

Whisper.

Oh, but dont you worry,

Look at me now.

Substitute of Cupid, at least,

Mending broken hearts,

And broken souls,

Rude comments,

I demolish,

If you're brave,

Say it to me,

In front if my face.

Wow,

Just look at me now.

And you, the one,

Who acted like my friend,

But ever so often,

Spoke to me behind my back,

And stuck to me

Like a leech.

Oh, but you were just a small piece of lint

On my designer pink colored sweater,

Who kept on bringing more of her army of pints out,

When ever I pulled,

You stayed put,

But look at me now,

New designer sweater,

Peach Colored.

And now

I know

That within seconds

I will wake up,

And begin my routine,

School,

HomeWORK.

Science, math,

Social studies,

And ELA.

Home.

Sleep.

Repite por favor.
