When the fun finally died down and the two sisters walked through the front door, they found that their parents were not home, but neither of them minded. It gave them some additional time alone. Ten minutes after they'd finished sorting themselves out, they snuggled together under a blanket, with the song Cartwheels playing softly in the background.

"Do you think I'll be accepted back into the family?" Lily eventually dared to ask. Katherine's shoulders slumped a little. "I don't know." Was the only response she could think of in that moment. "But your flaws and imperfections make up who you are."
"I only wish our parents understood that." Lily said with a small groan.
"Yeah." Katherine said, agreeing.
From that moment on, the two girls talked and laughed, developing easy going banter with each other, before sleep finally descended over them both as the last lyrics from Cartwheels faded into silence.
