"Could you please do me a favour and tell your git of a brother to talk to me? It's been weeks since he smelled the amortentia and disappeared," I groan, looking over at Ginny, who's painting her nails dark red, to match her dress. "The ball tomorrow is going to be very awkward if he doesn't," I laugh.
"If he makes it awkward you always have us," Hermione says, trying on her dress one last time.
"You all have dates," I groan again, hanging upside off the edge of her bed. "Mione, we still don't know who you're going with,"
"I guess you'll see when we get there, won't you?" She giggles. I look at Ginny and shrug.
"Ginny, who are you going with again?" I ask.
"Harry," She says nonchalantly. Hermione and I look at each other. "What? He's like a brother to me,"
"Yeah, okay," Hermione starts cracking up. I sit up straight in bed.
"Most definitely not like a brother," I laugh.
"You guys are bloody idiots," Ginny mutters under her breath, causing me and Hermione to laugh even harder. Once we've caught our breaths, Hermione puts her regular clothes back on.
"If Ron won't talk to you, then you can dance with Fred, y/n. He's going alone anyways," Hermione says, opening up a textbook.
"True," I stand up and start walking towards the door. "I'll see you ladies later, I'm gonna get a snack from the kitchen,"
I walk downstairs and across the entire campus, just for a snack. I've always been kind to the elves, as they're only kind to us. But my favorite elf: Dobby. I walk into the kitchen and am immediately greeted.
"Hello, Ms. y/l/n," Dobby runs up to me and hugs my legs. "Dobby has missed you very much!"
"I've missed you too, Dobby," I smile. "Can I go get a snack from the pantry?" He nods. I walk in and the lights are off. The doors immediately shut behind me, and I hear the lock click.
"What in the bloody hell?" A voice says, scaring me so bad I throw a punch. "OW!" The person yells.
"I'm so sorry," I say, trying to find the light switch. I flick the lights on and I see the one person I've been looking for: Ron. "Well hello there, Weasley,"
"Hi, y/n," He says shyly.
"Are we still dates for the Yule Ball? Or am I going to have to find someone else because you have been avoiding me for weeks. You haven't spoken to me since you've smelled the amortentia in Snape's class, what the hell happened?"
He flinches when I mention amortentia. "Look, y/n, I'm sorry. Sometimes I don't know how to handle things properly,"
"Well that is quite obvious," I say in response.
"Sometimes, I feel things for people and I don't know how to tell them properly," He starts. "Y/n, I like-"
He is cut off by someone dragging me out of the pantry.
"There you are, we've been looking everywhere for you," Fred smiles.
"Ginny and Mione- erm, Hermione, said you'd be here," George says. "Didn't expect you to be here snagging my brother, though," He laughs.
"No, it wasn't like that at all," I say, looking over my shoulder at Ron, who's staring sadly into my eyes.
Was he trying to tell me he likes someone else?
