The whole hall goes silent, watching to see where the owl is going to drop the letter.

He drops it right above our table.

"Oh bloody hell," George whispers.

The letter slowly floats down and lands right in front of me.

"Oh, y/n," Hermione says sadly. Everyone's eyes are on me. I open the letter and it says aloud:

Dear Ms. y/f/n,

We regret to inform you that your parents, Mr. Frank Y/L/N and Mrs. Elizabeth Y/L/N were involved in a terrible car accident and have passed away. We will be in further contact with you and any siblings you may have to discuss the contents of their wills. Best Wishes.

The whole hall erupts in whispers.

"How embarrassing..."

"THE Elizabeth Y/L/N?"

"Poor girl must be devastated right now,"

I grab the letter and start running out of the hall. I want to be anywhere but here right now.

"Y/n, wait up," Ron says, standing up from his seat.

"Don't you think you said enough to her yesterday, Ronald?" Fred yells angrily. "Leave her alone, all you do is hurt her more," He pushes him back into his seat and runs after me.

"He's not wrong, Ron," Harry says awkwardly.

"Bloody hell, so all of you know?" Ron sighs, rubbing his temples.

"Of course we know you git. You think you could say something like that to someone and just get away with it?" Ginny says loudly. "You never deserved her in the first place,"

"Ginny, I know you're one of her best friends so you're not going to believe me, but she was confessing her feelings to Fred, after making it seem like she was into me for weeks! How am I supposed to be okay with that?"

"She wasn't confessing her love to Fred, she was practicing what to say to you!" Ginny is very mad at this point.

"Even if she was, she doesn't owe you any feelings, Ron. You avoided her for weeks, you couldn't have expected her to actually fancy you when you act like that. She's just stubborn, so she couldn't let it go," Hermione groans.

"What? And I suppose she told you all of this?" Ron laughs.

"No, idiot, Fred and I told them," George says. They all stand up and walk away, leaving Ron alone at the table.

-

"Y/n, please open the door," Fred says quietly.

"Please, Freddie, go away," I sob.

"I'm not going to let you be in there alone, please let me in. You don't have to say anything,"

I shuffle to my door and let him in. I plop onto my bed and stare at the roof, not realizing I'm still holding onto the letter. Fred gently takes it from my hands and places it on my bedside table. He lays besides me and hugs me tightly, holding my head up to his chest.

I cry, shake, and sob for hours and Fred never complains once. Not about being covered in tears and boogers, not about his arms falling asleep, not about laying in an uncomfortable position with me. He held me close, letting me feel any and every emotion that has been building up inside me. When the sun starts setting, I feel myself falling asleep. I faintly hear a knock at the door and Fred lets go of me.

"Please don't leave me Freddie," I say quietly.

"I won't,"

He opens the door. It's George, Mione, Luna, Ginny, Harry, Neville, and Ron.
