AnnaBeth's POV

The next day at recess I was ready to give Adam my apology letter. I scanned the playground and I saw other kids screaming and yelling happily but there was no sign of Adam.

"Hey Jasper," I said as I went up to him.

He jumped off of the swing and he smiled at me.

"Hey AnnaBeth. Where's Adam? You two are inseparable," he replied.

I frowned.

"I came over here to ask you that. He wasn't in class this morning. I need to see him," I told him.

"Why?" Jasper asked.

"That's none of your business," I answered, "oh wait. Maybe Adam is..." I looked around Jasper and I saw Adam sitting by a fence with a new girl, "never mind. I found him."

Jasper looked behind him and he looked at me. Without me asking, he grabbed my hand and we walked over to Adam and the new girl. I heard Adam talking to the girl about his dog.

"Oh cool! Can I come over to see it today?" The new girl asked.

"Sure, AnnMarie" Adam replied happily, "and I can show you my..."

Adam's POV

I trailed off of my sentence and I stared at AnnaBeth and Jasper.

"Go away AnnaBeth," I said angrily, "you're invading our space."

She crossed her arms over chest and she glared at me. Then AnnaBeth threw a piece of paper at me.

"That's an apology letter for me yelling at you about your mom," she told me, "but why did you have to replace me?"

I stood up and I clenched my hands into fists.

"I'm replacing you because you're a good for nothing..." I cursed loudly and the whole playground got quiet.

I felt everyone's eyes on me and AnnaBeth started crying. Two of my teachers rushed over and one slapped my hand while the other took care of AnnaBeth.

"Adam Young what did you just say?" She asked sternly.

I repeated what I said and she dragged me inside to the principal's office where she would call my dad to come pick me up. While I waited, I was smiling and swinging my legs back and forth since they dangled off the chair. I was still smiling when dad came in. He had an angry look on his face.

"Your son needs to learn how to control his anger Randal," Mrs. Prince said, "earlier today he fought with a kid and have him a bloody nose and he broke one of his fellow classmate's arm-"

"What?! Why didn't you call me earlier!" Dad exclaimed.

"We tried. You weren't answering," she said, "and a few minuets ago he cussed at AnnaBeth."

At that, dad's face was red with anger and I ended up laughing.

"Adam Randal Young this is no laughing matter," he said as he grabbed my arm and he yanked me to my feet, "we're going home and we're going to talk then I'll think about your punishment. Is that clear?"

I laughed again.

"Yeah," I replied.

Dad sighed heavily and we went out. I followed dad down the hallway, out the building and into the car. We got in and it was silent the whole way home.
