Adam's POV

Dad and I reached home and I followed him inside. He closed the door and I saw Max running towards me.

"Hey Max!" I said happily as I scratched his ears and he licked my face, "I missed you."

He barked in response and I felt dad drag me upstairs and Max followed. He led me into the bathroom and he set me on the counter. We made eye contact and dad had an angry look still.

"Why did you say a bad word at AnnaBeth? She's your friend," dad said.

"Was my friend. I don't give a damn about her apology letter. Besides, I replaced her," I said while crossing my arms over my chest.

Dad glared at me.

"Don't say damn," he told me, "now why did you hit one of your classmates and why did you break someone else's arm?"

"She deserved to get a broken arm," I muttered.

"She? You hurt a girl?" Dad exclaimed.

I nodded my head 'yes' and I told dad why I did that stuff. While I was telling him, I saw him so angry he punched the counter.

"Adam," he said very calmly, "what was the cuss word that you said to AnnaBeth?"

I told him and he looked more upset than angry. Dad placed his hands on my shoulders.

"You never, ever say that to anyone again," he said angrily.

I now felt slightly guilty for saying that to AnnaBeth but I don't show it. Then dad let go of me and he opened the mirror which is a cabinet and he brought out a bar of soap.

"Leave this in your mouth until I come back okay?" He said as he put the soap in my mouth.

I nodded my head in understanding and dad went out with Max. The soap tasted like lavender. A few minuets went by and I noticed that I was getting a rash on my arms. Dad wasn't back yet but I took the soap out of my mouth anyway. Then a loud ringing noise filled my ears and I felt sick to my stomach. It felt like my chest was being squeezed again and I started coughing so hard I ended up vomiting blood on the bathroom floor. Dad came in and I was still retching but it was dry.

"Adam?" Dad asked, his voice sounded distant.

I forced myself to stand on my shaky legs and I faced him. His eyes grew wide and I saw him search through the other cabinets for something. The longer I watched him, the more weak I felt. The last thing I remembered was dad putting something to my lips.

Randal's POV

"Adam?!" I said as I placed the cup down, "oh god. What have I done?"

I looked at Adam who's face and arms were red from a rash and the inside of his throat was almost swollen shut. I started scolding myself. I knew Adam was allergic to lavender and other stuff that could have killed him and I still gave it to him, I thought as I looked for an epipen. It has to be here somewhere! I thought as I continued searching. But to no avail, it was nowhere to be found. I went to look in the other bathroom and it wasn't there. At that moment, I got Adam and I ran downstairs. I went outside with Max and I called Brielle. She answered on the second ring.

"Hey I'm coming over. Adam had a bad allergic reaction to lavender soap and-"

She cut me off when she said,

"Say no more and come over. I have the medicine for him."

"Thanks," I said into the phone.

Then I hung up and I put Adam in the back seat of the car along with Max. I heard Adam moan and Max laid down in Adam's lap after I put his seat beat on. I got into the drivers seat and I headed towards Brielle's house. A few minuets later, I held Adam in my arms and Brielle let me in.

"Oh my gosh. What happened?" She asked

"He got in trouble at school and he cussed at AnnaBeth and did other things. Long story short, I had Adam suck on a bar of soap and this happened," I said as her husband Nathan took Adam, "please tell me he'll live."

Brielle was hesitant to answer and I followed her, Nathan, and AnnaBeth into the den where he set Adam on the couch. I watched as she removed his shirt and she looked him over.

"Well. What other things is he allergic to?" Brielle asked.

"Um. Obviously lavender soap, cats, bee or yellow jacket stings, certain laundry soap and a billion other stuff," I told her, "why?"

"How long as he been like this? Did he throw up before he passed out?"

"He vomited blood. Why?" I asked

I heard her sigh heavily and she stood up. Brielle hugged me and she said,

"Randal, there's a slim possibility that he'll live."
