It was dark. But the lights in the room were bright. The place was full of chaos. Doctors walking here and there, nurses helping out patients. Melissa had told Scott to wait. He looked around the place and kept observing his mother behind the counter attending to an old lady. He looked over to the entrance where he saw a familiar face.
The man walked towards him and smiled."Parrish!" Scott said getting up.
"Hey Scott!" Parrish said giving him a hug, "so what are you doing here?"
"I wanted to talk to mom" Scott said, "and you?"
"Sheriff sent me to collect the autopsy report for a case" Parrish said.
"So how are you doing?"
"So just came back last week from Paris"
"Paris huh"
"Yeah, my high school friend and I went there"
"That's awesome"
Parrish smiled. Just then his portable radio sounded and Parrish pressed the small button and said , "Copy that"
He looked at Scott and said, "Haha duty calls, see you later". They embraced each other and Parrish left.
Scott looked over to the counter to see if Melissa was still there. But she wasn't. Just then,
"Coming?" She said from behind.
"Thank God" Scott said and gave her a big hug, "So hows everything?"
"Yeah, fine. It's kind of tiring though" She said telling him about all of her small incidents of the day. They walked to her car.
"Tell me about you Scott, you never visit me here. What's up?" She said sitting in the driver's seat and throwing her bag on the back seat.
"Mom, Malia broke up with me" Scott finally said.
"Oh Im so sorry dear" She said and stopped what she was doing, "Can I ask why"
"Its actually my fault. Allison is back" Scott said.
"What!? Allison - Allison?" Mellisa was surprised.
"Yeah. She was actually alive the whole time."
"What and you didn't bother to tell me?"
"No, I didn't mean to, it all happened so fast"
"Its fine, does Chris know"
"Yeah he met her"
"Even he didn't tell me"
"He was overwhelmed, maybe he wanted to tell you after you reached home"
"Okay forget about me, now tell me about what happened"
"So Allison's back and obviously, she was my everything back then and so its like a rush of emotions and feelings altogether which was very wrong of me cause I had Malia. And because of which she had every right to break up"
"Did you talk to her about your feelings? Did you tell her that it was too much for you to take it?"
"No, but I tried"
"What have I been telling you" Melissa finally started the engine and started driving.
"To use words"
"Exactly, tell Malia how you feel and tell her that you need some time to figure things out and that this event has made you confused about your feelings about everything"
"Yeah okay, but I don't want to break up with her"
"So tell her that, tell her that she still is important to you, and that you don't want to break it off"
