"Daddy tell us a story!" Mabel squealed at bedtime. "Okay. Let me see. Has mommy told you the one about Monster Falls?" our dad asked. My sister and I shook our heads. "Well then your in for a treat." he started. "A long time ago there was a man who commited such a horrible crime" He started. "What'd he do?" Mabel interrupted. "Nobody know for sure." he said while shrugging. "Anyways. He commited such a horrible crim that they could not find a punishment great enought to punish him." He started again. "What about death?" I asked. Dad sighed. "Do you want me to tell the story or not!" He yelled looking straight at me. I sunk down into my covers. Dad always hated me I just didn't know why. "They finally found a punishment that would be enough for him. They banished him." He said quietly. "That's not as great a punishment as death." I mumbled. "DIPPER PINES! Do you know this story!" he exclaimed. "No." I said crossing my arms. "But I do know law and order." I said bravely. Dad scowled and turned to Mabel. When he looked at Mabel he rolled his eyes and gave her a goofy grin. I felt tears rising, but I held them back for all I was worth. "But before they banished him they sent him to laboratory and changed him into a monster. He was mixed with a pteradactyl and was banished to a place that had been abandoned long ago. Now they send everyone there who does a great crime like murder." he said. The part that made me feel bad was now he was pointing all his attention to Mabel. Just then mom came in. "Hon. don't tell them the story of Monster Falls you'll scare them to death." Mom said looking sweetly at Mabel. "UGH!" I groaned loudly. My parents shot me a threatening glance. "It's not real." I told them. Dad stood up and told Mom to take Mabel outside. Mom simple glared at me, picked up Mabel, and went outside to the backyard. Uh-oh. Now I was scared. "Tell me something about law and order son." dad said. "Well first off murder is not a great crime a greater crim would be-" I was cut short by dad's hand flying across my face. I sat there stunned and scared. "Da-" I started. "SAY SOMETHING ELSE SMART!" dad yelled. I began to cry and I jumped off my bed. Dad grabbed me and threw me back on my bed. He began to take his belt off of his pants. "GO AHEAD SON! SAY SOMETHING SMART!" he screamed. I cried harder as he rolled me over. He brought his hand up just as I rolled off the bed. As quick as I could I crawled under the bed. Dad crawled in after  me while I crawled out the other side. I ran as fast as my legs would carry me to the bathroom. I ran in and locked the door. I crawled in the big cabnet we had in the bathroom and hid. "LET ME IN HERE RIGHT NOW!" I heard dad yell from outside. I just sat there and hoped he wouldn't get in. That's when I decided I would never let anyone treat me like this ever again. No matter what. I would defend myself...even if it meant death for the other person.
