“Severely? Come on. The eldest prince is less favored. No one respects him.”

Yanzi couldn’t stand it! She walked out from the rockery and glared at those imperial maids. She reproached, “You bitches! How dare you! Should I pull your tongues out!”

The maids turned around and were scared to see her! They curtsied and left the Imperial Garden as fast they could.

Mu Xiyue looked down at Long Yinfeng, who was stuck in the wheelchair. She thought, “He must feel terrible to hear such dirty things.”

He should have been a proud guy. But just because he was wounded in a battle, he could no longer stand up. What was worse, he had to suffer when he was disdained or mocked at.

“Uncle...” Mu Xiyue murmured. Deep in her heard, she made up her mind to cure him of his legs.

Long Yinfeng looked up and just saw her look. He thought she was showing pity and that made him angry. He said coldly, “Stop looking at me like that. I don’t need sympathy or pity.”

Hearing this, Mu Xiyue squatted down and looked into his eyes. Meanwhile, she held his hands with her own and explained, “I’m not showing sympathy or pity. I just feel sorry for you. You made so many contributions to this nation and how could they treat you like this? Luckily, you have me. I will cure you of your legs and you’ll stand up. Those who used to look down on you will look up!”

What she said shocked Long Yinfeng. He held her hands too and asked carefully, “Would you like to stay with me when they look up at us?”

“Sure, I’d love to.”

As she replied, she wasn’t thinking too much. As a matter of fact, she just wanted to encourage him so that he could see hope.

“I’m used to such words. But I worry about you. They said something so offensive. Do you feel sad about that?” asked Long Yinfeng.

Mu Xiyue, in fact, felt nothing about that. Anyway, that was the past of original “her”. She just had the bad luck to get inside “her” body!

She then shook her head and replied, “They have the right to talk. I can’t interfere with what they would like to gossip.” She paused and asked, “Do you mind that I married someone before? Or that I did something out of line?”

Long Yinfeng smiled and gave her a funny glance, “Do you really think they’re right about you?”

As he spoke, he pulled her arm and pushed up her sleeve. A red nevus turned up on the arm!

Mu Xiyue yelled, “Virginity nevus?”

God, she was still a virgin! She wondered who spread such evil gossips and she was even convinced!

“It doesn’t matter if you still have it. In my eyes, you’re always the best, anyway.” said Long Yinfeng, who gazed at her gently.

Weird. Mu Xiyue felt he was confessing his love for her.

She took back her hands and stood up to wheel him away. She said, “Time is running out. We should go and see the empress.”

“Mm.” Long Yinfeng replied in a low voice. The look on his face was hard to tell.

Seemed like it was a big day. Fengqi Palace was way more bustling than usual. Many people were there.

Long Yichen stood aside. He sneered when he saw them coming in.

The empress didn’t look kind, either. Other imperial concubines also looked like they wanted to see the fun.

Long Yinfeng didn’t need to kneel, considering his health condition. But Mu Xiyue had to.

She knelt down and gave a salute to the empress, “Greetings, Your Majesty.”

The empress, however, only gave her a cold glance before she turned around and talked to Noble Concubine Shu.

“The Gathering Feast is coming in two days. Envoys from Western Shu will come. I wonder if you’ve got everything ready for it.”

Noble Concubine Shu replied with a smile, “Don’t worry, Your Majesty. I won’t get us humiliated.”

“Fine, then.” replied the empress, nodding. She took up her tea cup and took a sip. Looked like she didn’t want to get Mu Xiyue up when the latter was still kneeling.

All of a sudden, Mu Xiyue stood up quickly! Anyway, she had a rather bad reputation already. She didn’t care if she disrespected the empress.

Seeing that, the empress’s face took on a ghastly expression! She slammed her tea cup on the table and asked coldly, “Mu Xiyue. Before I get you up, you should have kept kneeling. Do I need to teach you the rules again?”

Mu Xiyue curtsied and replied, “Sorry, Your Majesty, I thought you forgot to get me up. My knees hurt so much that I just stood up.”

The empress thumped on the table angrily and yelled, “How dare you! Kneel down! And you mustn’t stand up before I ask you to.”

Just then, Long Yichen stood out and made a bow with hands folded in front. “Mother, don’t get angry. Mu Xiyue used to be so impolite when she stayed with me. She’s just so ill-bred!”

He paused and looked at Long Yinfeng. In a satirical tone, he continued, “Brother. Sorry for that. Don’t get angry with her messy behaviors. It’ll be bad if you fall ill again.”

Long Yinfeng held Mu Xiyue’s hands, looked at everyone else on site coldly and replied indifferently, “We’re done with the greetings and we’re going back.”

Mu Xiyue nodded and replied, “Okay.”

She wheeled him. But before they were leaving, the empress yelled with anger, “Stop!”

Mu Xiyue didn’t give a damn at all. She wheeled Long Yinfeng to the door. Before they stepped out, Long Yichen roared, “Somebody! Stop them!”

A group of imperial guards flooded in, with swords in their hands. Mo Heng and Yanzi rushed up, to cover their masters so that no one would manage to hurt them.

“Your Majesty, are you going to catch us or kill us?” asked Long Yinfeng in a cold and stern voice.

Everyone inside the palace was shocked. None of them expected the imperial guards to hold swords.

They were at daggers drawn. The imperial concubines, who sat in seats of lower priority, didn’t even dare to breathe.

The empress swallowed and still pretended to be cool. As the empress of the nation, she could never get humiliated in front of so many people.

She then replied, “I don’t mean that. Mu Xiyue is your wife, but she doesn’t obey rules at all. I just want to teach her the rules.”

“With swords?” asked Long Yinfeng again. He wheeled his wheelchair around and stared at the empress. His deep dark eyes looked rather cold.

“No... no.” replied the empress in a much lower voice when she didn’t even dare to look into his eyes.

She glared at the imperial guards and vented her anger on them, “You guys! Put down your swords and leave!”

The guards looked at each other, at a loss what to do. Just as they were going to leave, Long Yichen yelled, “Wait!”

He looked at the empress and whispered to her, “Mom, you’re the empress and the ruler of the imperial harem. What? Are you scared of Long Yinfeng? Morally, he should also call you ‘mother’.
