51. Helped in a Town

Translator: Flying Lines

The next morning, Jun Luotian, Mu Xiyue and Yanzi continued with their journey.

“Yanzi, how long is it before we get to Miao Region?” asked Mu Xiyue.

“Half a month at least or even months,” replied Yanzi, after the calculation. “It depends on our speed. If nothing delays us, we’ll be there soon.”

“Fine, then,” said Mu Xiyue, “Let’s hurry up.”

As they arrived in a town, they found something weird. Out of the town’s wall laid many skeletons! Dead men everywhere! It made Mu Xiyue curious, and she was eager to know what had happened. Instead of leaving directly, Mu Xiyue decided to enter the town and find out the truth.

“Luotian, Yanzi, why don’t we go into town and check what happened before we leave?” asked Mu Xiyue, not wanting anyone else to die.

“Okay,” replied Jun Luotian, and he and Yanzi entered the town, too. Hell, no! What they saw freaked them out! INCREDIBLE!

Dead bodies were everywhere! That was horrifying! The further they walked on, the more skeletons they saw! They didn’t even see any living man!

“Let’s go further and ask someone about it,” said Mu Xiyue with great sympathy.

“Okay, Your Highness,” replied Yanzi, “But we must be careful!”

Safety was always her first concern.

“Well, let’s go and have a look,” replied Jun Luotian who also wanted to get the whole story.

They were dreadfully alarmed, while so many people had been dead. They walked and walked.

“Look, there are people in that big house,” said Yanzi, pointing at a shabby house, “Let’s go and ask them.”

Mu Xiyue and Jun Luotian looked in the direction of her finger, and they really saw many people. These people, out of expectation, looked quite abnormal.

Mu Xiyue rushed over! And she asked an old lady she saw. “Granny, what’s wrong with you?” asked Mu Xiyue anxiously.

“Miss, you’d better leave! We don’t know why, but we suddenly had mysterious illness days ago. We vomited and had diarrhea,” explained the old lady, sighing with profound resignation, “The illness was catching! Many people died. Those who could leave had already left! Those who couldn’t have to stay and waited to die.”

“Why didn’t you send for a doctor?” asked Mu Xiyue.

“This is a remote and poor town! We have no local doctors. We can hardly support ourselves. How can we afford to send for a doctor?” replied the old lady with a sigh.

“Granny, let me feel the pulse,” said Mu Xiyue, “I’m a doctor!”

She didn’t want to leave, and she wanted to cure people in this place.

“But Miss, we don’t have anything to pay you,” said the old lady.

“I want no money!” replied Mu Xiyue, “Come on. Let me see what illness you have.”

Poor civilians lived around, as far as Mu Xiyue could see, many of whom died and the rest of whom were badly ill. She would like to try her best to help these poor people.

“Luotian, I think I’m going to stay for days. I’ll leave for Miao Region after I cure them,” she said to Jun Luotian, “If you’re in a hurry, why don’t you leave alone? I’ll catch up with you later.”
