One Accident...
One pro bono case...
One witness... injured.. unconscious.... inaccessible...
Two dead bodies...
And few injured missing persons that nobody on the map seemed to care about, except Lisa....
It sure was a big day afterall. All that had happened in dark was about to see the light.
For, the only witness had gained his consciousness and all the reporters had lost their cool with this news as the dust that had settled for few days was ready to set a storm.
Hospital reception was crowded more than ever. The receptionists made vain attempts of keeping reporters, fans, attorneys and other ill-informed yet unapologetically enthusiastic crowd at bay.
The days were rarely this busy for the hospital especially when there was no election on the corner.
The reporters hustled as the barricades were about to be pulled up around the hospital. Lisa sneaked around the barricades quickly, to avoid the attention that was so against their situation at the moment.
"Seems like some celebrity hanging out here!" Maya giggled while glancing at the crowd.
"You find THIS funny?" Lisa's sarcasm spoke for herself. "God only knows who their next victim is going to be! May the forces be with that poor soul!"
Maya nodded in agreement. "It is just funny that their lunches are earned by throwing somebody's happiness and privacy under the bus! How pathetic can these persons be!"
Lisa was shocked at the words. "Wow.. Someone is being far too opinionated, don't you think?!"
Maya just waved her palms in air, like a teen would do while ignoring her elder cousin's speech on importance of 'masters' education'. She then twirled a little to face Lisa. "Tell me grandma.. why are we here?!"
Lisa chuckled a little, while pulling Maya away from a unit of nurses led by the doctor, who seemed to be in a hurry.
"We are here to meet my boss." Lisa informed while glancing at the surroundings. "And I think we need to go with the emergency stairs."
Lisa started navigating her way and Maya followed her on tiptoes. "Tell me Lisa, how come your boss works in this hospital when you are an attorney?!"
Lisa pushed the doors of emergency exit and rushed towards the stairs. She stopped in her tracks when she heard Maya let a happy cry.
"Oscar! Yooohooo! You made it!" Maya almost screamed. "I knew it, baby!"
Lisa took a few steps back to get a full view of what was going on and rushed towards Maya to pull her out of the arms of that man and the kiss that was about to go a little wild.
"Maya..." Lisa made a lame attempt of gaining Maya's attention. "What are you doing? Do you know him?"
"You will know him too... Soon." Maya whispered into Lisa's ear while pushing her up the stairs. "I promise, girl!"
They reached on the 2nd floor and just the time when Lisa was about to climb the stairs for the 3rd, she was pulled away into a different direction that appeared to lead towards a wall.
"What?" Lisa was a little annoyed now. Her patience had melted like a perfectly tampered chocolate. "We need to meet my boss, Maya. C'mon!"
"Your Boss?" Oscar spoke in his perfect scottish accent, while randomly yet weirdly touching the wall. "Senior Spade, I presume! Or should I say a SERIAL KILLER?!"
