20 Years Ago:

One day, a 4-year-old Max was being greeted by everyone in Troll Village.

A few months ago, during Trollstice, a holiday when the Bergens eat Trolls, while the Trolls were escaping from the Bergens, Max saw baby Princess Poppy being left behind and about to be taken, he rushed to the rescue and carried her to safety. As of then, King Peppy hired him as her new assistant, guardian, protector, bodyguard and right-hand troll, as well as the protector of Troll Village.

Then suddenly, he was face to face with a young red Troll with orange dreadlocks. She introduced herself as DJ Suki. To his surprise, she is an orphan like him. The two became good friends with each other ever since.

20 Years Later:

A new and bright sunny day has started in Troll Village.

Inside a hill house, DJ Suki is happily sleeping on her bed. She loves to sleep and wishes she never woke up.

Until a shadowy figure came over her, she rubbed her eyes and open them slowly, and then...

"Boo!"

She smiled at the troll in front of her, it was just Max, her new best friend/roommate. Ever since the day they met, they started hanging out together a lot. Since she doesn't have a home to live, Max gladly volunteers to share his home with her and the two became inseparable since.

"Morning, Max." DJ smirked.

"Aww, Morning." He groaned in frustration because he wasn't able to scare her.

"No matter how many times you tried to scare me, it's not going to happen."

"That's a bummer, I thought I was going to get you this time." Max said.

"Besides..." DJ said after changing into her usual outfit. "...today is the anniversary of the village since the escape from the Bergens. How can I not be scared of something?"

She realized he is no longer there.

"Max? Buddy?"

"HA!"

"AH!"

Max came out from behind and scared her when she wasn't expecting.

"I got you! I got you good! I got you so hard! I-I didn't scared you, did I?" Max said laughing.

"What? No! No! You didn't! I was just catching my breath." DJ said.

"Are you sure? 'Cause..."

"Pal, it's okay. I'm okay. I don't need to worry about it 'cause I know it's you. That's why I don't get scared." DJ laughed.

They softly smiled at each other, and slightly blushed as well. It's pretty obvious that they have a crush on each other. They have always been there for each other no matter what happens.

"Well, I better go check on my brother and see if he's okay."

Max walked over to his brother's bunker. If you wonder who his brother is, it's none other than Branch. Well, they're not technically brothers. Branch adopted him.

You see, Max and Branch are like a very odd couple. Branch is a gray Troll who doesn't like singing, dancing or hugging. He was grumpy his whole life. When he was 5 and Max was 4, since neither of them have parents, Branch decided to adopt him as his new brother.

Surprisingly, Max is more of a survivalist than Branch. He is much more smarter on learning about protecting people. Not only he is a survivalist, he is also a mechanic. He is excellent with building and fixing things. Also, while Branch doesn't like singing or dancing, Max actually likes to sing and dance, but only when he's alone or when he's with DJ Suki.

Max knocked on the rock, then the Go Away mat opened up to reveal Branch.

"Oh, hey, little bro." Branch greeted.

"Hello, big bro. Just came to remind you that tonight's the night." Max said.

"Let me guess. The night when Poppy's throwing a party for the escape from the Bergens, which is what she always does every single year?" Branch asked bluntly.

"Well, someone's being a Negative Nancy." Max teased his brother.

"Oh, shut up." Branch said rolling his eyes.

"Hey, sometimes you should just live your life a little. You just need to let loose." Max told his brother.

"No way. I'm not the kind of Troll you thought I am." Branch said, shocking Max.

"What do you mean?" Max asked.

"You don't wanna know." Branch replied.

Max was confused for a moment, but decided to leave it. Suddenly, his special bracelet that he created (not a Hug timer) beeped.

"Well, it's time for the Trolls to start singing. Would you like to come with me and watch?" Max asked.

"Whatever." Branch replied as the two left to find Poppy and the others.
