a-ally?!

i stare blankly at a woman resembling the woman i love, i can't tell if i'm seeing things or if that was really her. man it really looks like her, the only thing that threw me off was, the- the baby in her arms.

she walked toward me

ally: patrick! darby!

patrick: i'm so excited you're finally back! but um explain please *pointing at the baby*

darby: yeah we'd kinda like to know

ally: well you see, the day i-

patrick: left

ally: yes, left. i went away to a place where i knew no one would find me. as soon as i left the house, i went to the airport and took the first flight out, which just so happened to be boston, that night i felt sickly, like a heartburn sort of feeling so i went to take a pill and then it popped into my head, i might be pregnant! so i went to the nearest drugstore and bought a pregancy test, and well as you can tell it was positive. so i decided to stay out there throughout the pregnancy and i planned to come home ealier but i was giving birth so here i am. meet your daughter, well technically granddaughter Vera Dempsey!

patrick: i-i wow she's gorgeous!

darby: i-i have a daughter! she's so perfect

ally: darby, want to hold her?

darby: of course, wow, i can't believe i'm a father

patrick: yeha, me niether i said, (slightly bitter considering it was my work that made her)

after meeting ally we decided it's be better to stay here for the night, darby decided it was best for him to go back to the hospital as he was feeling sickly, so we spent the night at ally's just me, ally, and vera. we ate dinner and i waited for ally to finish feeding the baby and then we talked.

patrick: so how are you? mentally i mean

ally: i- i'm the best i've been in awhile, it's been hard, i mean with the pregnancy and being alone, but my mental health is the best it's been in a long time

patrick: i'm glad to hear. vera is gorgeous

ally: she gets it from you, she has your gorgeous blue eyes and you can see her mcdreamy hair coming in

we both laughed

ally: wow, that felt nice

patrick: what?

ally: us. together. laughing, with our baby girl upstairs

patrick: you're right, although she's not really mine, she's darby's

ally: she is. but you're still her father, and she gets to know that

patrick: fair

ally: speaking of darby and well you, while i was gone i think i've made my final descision as to who i'm going to pick.

patrick: ally- like i said, no rush, please take time to consider your options, darby is amazing and i am pretty great, but seriously think this through, it's a huge-

ally: you-

patrick: deci- what?

ally: patrick. it's you- it's always been you.

patrick: really- wow um, ally-

ally: i know it's a lot to spring on you, but vera is what made me realize... i don't want "darby's" babies i want yours, i want vera and her future siblings to call you their dad and i-i want you, i need you, patrick please be with me.

patrick: ally, you have to be sure of this because i can't handle being left alone again, darby's heart will break, and vera will need to know who her dad is. so i'm going to leave, for a few weeks and give you time to think, this is an important step for our family and i want you to be sure of it.
