Welcome back to Beat Reviews!

Well, today we have a rather nice book that had some issues that I talked with the author (they are fixed already), and I must say that I am glad to have told him those issues because those issues caused a loss of points minimal that I rather prefer to correct talking with him today and making sure he fixes them.

Still, 32 chapters (some with several parts) and 32 chapters that are far better than the first time I read Earth Warriors, and better than the previous book that was on. So I am really proud of its improvement.

Like with some other writers, Luigimon (the author of EW), is in a group named Spade Publishing. Just like me, and just like Rodrigo (Cogster). And we are doing a book known as Spadeverse, a crossover of many books worked by many authors.

Let's get this started, because this time the score is rather awesome. I did seriously enjoy it!

-Book name: Earth Warriors

-Author name: LuisPetrizzoRengel

-Summary:

It is the year 2026, an alien race called the Zlocu are waging war across the stars, believing that the era of peace was slowing down the next step of universal evolution and now are determined to "awake" everyone to let them know how peace made them "weak".

Planet Earth took one of the worst hits from their onslaught, given that they were recovering from a devastating global conflict. Despite the efforts of various governments, the Zlocu occupied 80% of Earth. Everything seemed hopeless until a group of celestial beings called "The Guardians" started to intervene in the conflict, as a result of the discovery of the four physical incarnations that represent the principles of the Universe itself, all of them found on planet Earth.

Now, these four heroes and other factions must work together to defeat the Zlocu Empire and Malgan's reign of tyranny. But more than war, they also need to know what is the meaning of being a hero and a warrior in the modern world.

A tribute to the favorite anime and Science Fiction works of the 80s to the early 21st century, this is one tale to witness.

-Score:

PLOT: 20 out of 30 marks.

WORLD BUILDING: 25 marks out of 30 marks.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: 25 marks out of 30 marks.

GRAMMAR: 10 marks out of 10 marks.

TOTAL: PLOT+WORLD BUILDING+CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT+GRAMMAR= 80 Marks out of 100 marks.

-Verdict:

Earth Warriors is an awesome book, let's be honest, but I am sure he could improve further and be a really awesome book. Also, right now from 80, every mark is really hard to obtain reaching more than 80 is a really awesome feat.

For me, true winners should be around this amount of score (from 75 to 100). Literally something that the Wattys winners do not reach in this book of reviews, because they don't work on world building and that's 30 marks they are letting go.

Plot:

Let's be honest, the typical alien invasion cliché is way too used, but Luis (Or Luigi as we know him in Spade) has done good twists and that's due to the world building and character development. He has a cliché, but instead on focusing on following the structure as many others... He does his plot unique by adding so many new things, even if some are cliché, and execute them extremely well.

I cannot give him more than 20 because I want to see how this goes on, if this keeps surprising me... I have no doubts that giving a 30 out of 30 in this part will be possible.

Execution is key in the plot, and he is executing it in a way that does not really allow me to predict how all will go down to. He is adding fresh ideas like the ways he is showing how humans can betray their kin, or how some people can fight and then turned as enemies.

I do hope to see how it truly develops, but right now improving this is just a matter of knowing where to do good plot twists and keep putting reasonable ways of going ahead with the story.

World building:

Here instead of the stuff that happened with Trial 017, I see a rather well-built world, with understandable explanations, even in the interactions of the characters. The prologue gives us a chance to know in which world we are, what is going on, and literally explains how Earth is different from our Earth.

And keeps going, while showing different parts of the world, the cultures, the languages, and how they do react to the Zlocu.

And talking about the Zlocu, they are done so well. We can see their hierarchy, their way of life, their culture, their beliefs, and how that shapes them while they try to shape others into their lifestyle.

I would have enjoyed seeing more about the Soranians and other races, that's true. And it's why I am not putting a 30/30 in this part. Because I feel like Amira is a wonderful character, but seeing more of what her race was and how they lived... I don't know, adding some long-lost tradition, would flesh out even more the truly nice Soranian princess.

Still, that's just something I recommend but it's not absolutely needed, because right now this world building is awesome. Just that the requirement of the 30 marks it's difficult to reach, you need such a vast work on the world building that can be rather hard to do.

Character Development:

This part is great too, and it's a lovely thing to see, because it's done in a manner I do enjoy. All the characters are fleshed out, you can empathize with them, you can understand their fears, their choices, and their way of life. Even the relationship between Amira and Logan is not forced, romance is hard to do without being forced, and more in this kind of story.

Yet in this story, we see how this love grows into a rather beautiful thing. Alongside the comedy of Tany, the explanation of why some characters are how they are, and many other things backing up the story... Makes this part a real pleasure to say that I am rather satisfied.

I am still giving it 25 marks because I want to see how this finally blossoms and how the ties between the main cast become stronger. I have seen many times how when the end arrives, the writer slips up and something worthy of 25 marks falls to 15. So, yeah. Keep the good work and if you can even do it better, don't know which options you have, probably I will give the 30/30.

Afterword:

In this case, the afterword is not that big, because being honest... I feel like Earth Warriors deserves the 2019 Wattys winner instead of Trial 017. But one more to the list of forgotten by Wattpad's bias, I suppose.

If the author keeps with the good work, I will be so happy to see such a wonderful work in Wattpad. Sometimes you believe that if a book has won contests, it must be superb. Then you read that book, and after a few days... You find a gem like this one and you truly enjoy it.

Next book:

Well, the next book... After thinking a bit too much about it, I decided to take Overtake The Astral: Searching for Good Life in Another World of Vayne125 as the next one to be reviewed.

I have a list of two more before starting to search more from the moment I finish writing up this review. Which will be a lot of time before you even see it, since this takes a lot of time.

Well, this is the one that should have been put last week, and the next week comes Vayne's book! SURPRISE!

It's wonderful to see that people do enjoy this review book! So if you enjoy, or it helps you, please do give a good vote! Remember that you can put in the first chapter, or in any chapter, a comment with the review proposal form. As of now, there's a difference between the latest proposal and this chapter of 10 chapters. So... Yeah. Will take a while.
