Dear my lovely wife Sophie,

I know I left almost three days ago, but the ride to Japan has been tiring. Donnie and Mikey slept most of the way but Raph was restless. I know he misses Grace, and I know none of us will be there when the babies are due to be born. I feel terrible for that but hopefully we will be back in time for their first birthday. If we are allowed that is.

I am writing this letter to let you and the girls know of what we are up to. Not too long after we arrived, we wandered through a village, of course wearing long trench coats and fedoras, only to stumble across a group of Foot Ninjas attacking a helpless family. Raph wanted to fight, but I held him back, knowing the outcome if we were to interfere. We were all craving for a fight.

Out of nowhere, a staff with a blade out one end, a Naginata, shot through the air, hitting one of the Ninjas and the blade jammed into a wall. There, just beyond a small hill, stood four figures, each with their own weapon. The Masters, Quing-Ma the Knife Master, Rosala the Chain Master, Sahara the Staff Master and Tahlya the Sword Master. They were beautiful with the way they fought, graceful and not a hair out of place.

They promised to train us the next day under one condition; we don’t speak of them when we are in the village nor do we fight anyone. Raph was reluctant to agree but with persuasion from Mikey, we made the deal.

I must get some rest. Stay out of trouble, I love you.

We will be home soon.

Leonardo.

Grace,

I miss you so much, I want to come home but I know Splinter will just send me back. Leo suggested we all write letters back home, just to keep you girls up to date and to make us feel better. Right now, I don’t feel any different.

I hated the ride over here, I felt so useless and cooped up in the baggage compartment of the planes was just too stuffy. Mikey was even more annoying and emptyheaded than before and I didn’t think that was possible.

Finding those Ninjas attacking a helpless family made me want to bust some heads but Leo held me back. At the time, I disliked his for it but I now realize he was right to, if we had of gotten involved, we may not have been accepted by the Masters. Tahlya reminds me of you, she is strong minded like you but I would never swap you for anyone else.

Leo told the Masters that Sensei thought we are ready to find new Masters to continue our training and Sahara smiled, saying their parents trained Splinter when they were alive. Their parents died in a house fire fifteen years ago which almost made me leak a tear.

Now I’m just getting sappy again. Quing-Ma is training me and she’s pushy, pushier than Sensei. Last night, when we went to bed, Mikey was first to fall sleep, practically falling onto his bed, while it took Donnie and Leo a bit longer but I stayed up most of the night, thinking about you guys back home. I can’t wait to get back. It’s not that I don’t like Japan, I just miss the smells of home.
