Chapter 12

CHAPTER 12 (EPOV)

I found her running in the forest. She was crying. I couldn't stand it, it didn't seem right. I put my arms around her, she looked up at me wit her pained eyes. I don't know how long we were there, but it seemed like forever, and i liked it.

-"We should get back." Bella sad as she got up and out of my arms. I didn't say anything, she was obviously still quite upset about saying 'goodbye' to Charlie. I held her hand as we ran back to the house. I can't believe it took me this long to realize it but, I STILL couldn't read Bella's mind. This was confusing, why hadn't I realized it sooner?? I'll need to consult Carlisle about it later. When we reached the house, i could tell carlisle wanted to talk to us.

-"We realize you've already spoken to your father, which I would've advised against. But it seems that we'll be moving. The search your father has started might lead to us and we can't have that kind of attention." Carlisle very sure of what he was saying.

-"But i told Charlie to stop it. I wouldn't want to take you guys away from Forks just because of me. I wouldn't feel good about it." Bella said. Ah, always thinking of others and never herself. She was so selfless, i felt my self falling for her all over again.

-"Bella, sweetie, don't be silly. Your family, and we protect our family. And we have to do this. Your not at fault here." Esme told her. Bella gave her a smile but didn't say anything. Rosalie looked pretty angry. She didn't want to move because here in Forks we actually got to be a little normal because there was less sun. Btu it wasn't all her decision anyways.

-"carlisle I actually have to speak to you about something." I said to Carlisle. I needed to know why I still couldn't read Bella's mind. We were vampires, our minds were alike, so why couldn't i read her mind like i could with everyone else?

Me and carlisle went hunting while everyone else stayed at the house. I explained to him what was going on and He said it reminded him of someone in the Volturi guard. I've never met the Volturi, but carlisle was friends with some one named Aro.

-"There's someone on the guard who can stretch sort of force field from her head around everyone to protect them. Hmm. I'd like to try out that theory on Bella, if she'd let me." Carlisle said.

-"Of course she will." And then we headed back to the house.
