The half moon's rays filtered through the trees of LeafClan's territory. After the defeat of Cheetahstar and the peace between the four clans, LeafClan made a new camp beyond the other three. The camping ground was near the edge of the forest, many tree-lengths away. The dappled light darkened as three cats approached as if they are looking for prey for their meal tomorrow. Pebble-eye,  Bigrock, and the gray tom's apprentice Riverpaw crouched down together.

The three-cat patrol doesn't usually hunt at night, for that dangerous creatures like a badger can come out. They were lost; the land LeafClan marked was new to them still, even four moons after they found it.

Pebble-eye sniffed. Her eyes narrowed and her striped tail flicked impatiently. "I told you that this isn't the way to our camp, Bigrock." The apprentice hissed at the young warrior.

"Don't talk to my mentor like that!"

"Both of you be quiet! I know this is the way to the camp," Bigrock growled. He looked at Pebble-eye and saw her sadness sparkled in the young warrior's marbles. "Riverpaw, for part of your training, go over there and smell any trace of our clanmates." The apprentice did so, giving Bigrock enough time to walk over to his former apprentice.

"A part of training, eh?" Pebble-eye teased; although, not cheerfully. It made the older warrior flinch. "You should've listened to me, now you got us lost, like the time you got lost in your mate's heart and stupid eyes!" Her head turned away.

"Oh, don't bring up Limb-log! I was about to apology to you, but it seems StarClan knew that you won't accept it.

"Is this because I chose Limb-log over you, Pebble-eye? Please, you need to understand that we can't." Pebble-eye glared at the gray tom, her claws shedding out and came back in her golden paws.

She looked back at the apprentice to check if he didn't hear anything. Twisting her head to Bigrock she whispered, "You know, that queen isn't no good! I'm better than that hag; I'm younger, talented, good at hunting, and can bring fresh-kill for our kits."

The tom sighed and shook his head. "That is the problem, Pebble-eye...," Bigrock locked amber eyes with the she-cat's gray eyes. "You were made warrior three moons ago, you boast like a kit, and I want my mate to stay in the nursery where it's safe and not leave my kits and gone to StarClan, being killed by who knows what."

Pebble-Eye's jaw hung open, shocked at Bigrock's last comment. "I will not die and leave our kits in the nursery, suckling another queen's milk. I will be fine, I promise to StarClan! Why can't you trust me?" Riverpaw walked over to the arguing warriors.

"If you warriors are done, I smelled nothing, but I did see a very big clearing behind the trees," Riverpaw told his mentor.

"We're at the edge of the forest. Come on, let's go back." The pale gray tom waved his tail, telling his patrol-mates to follow. He was beginning to pad away from the edge, but there was a crack of twigs, repeated. Bigrock thought of it as if whoever was doing it was speeding up. The warrior looked at Pebble-eye and then to his apprentice. Both of them shrugged. Riverpaw stated, "it was only a prey running." Bigrock accepted it, sniffed the air, then something so dark came at him full pelt.

Pebble-eye watched as a black cat crashed against Bigrock. Her legs stiffened, watching as the dark cat raised their black claws and slashed down the flesh of the older warrior's nose. Blood spattered above the shadowed cat's green eyes.

"Go! I said g-" Bigrock squealed to his patrol-mates, the cat sliced the giant warrior's throat. Immediately, Pebble-eye grabbed the scruff of Riverpaw and ran away from the attack.

Ignoring the fidgeting Riverpaw who told her to drop him, the molly could've sworn that she smelled the scent of WillowClan after she raised her nose and sniffed. The dead body of her love flashed in her gray eyes. A WillowClan cat murdered him! Not only murdered the cat she loved, but also stepped into LeafClan's territory. Luckily, the next few sunrises will be the gathering of The Boulders, and she knows who the WillowClan warrior did the murderous deed!
