Humming a small tune to himself Reiji walked along the damp pavement with his eyes closed and a satisfied expression on his face as he entered a small ramen stand.
"One beef ramen to go please" an old man at the counter nodded his head as he started to make the ramen, from his methodic placement of the ingredients to the smooth slicing of beef the man was clearly a master of his art.
The rain poured heavily as Reiji sat quietly he knew no police were going to be called, what're they going to do? If the call the police they find all the drugs and other illigal substances and they'll all be arrested Reiji quietly chuckled to himself either way they've taken a massive hit, with no one to guide them they'd surely fall apart
Clangs and rigs rang out as the long haired man grabbed a can of pop from a vending machine. Reiji sat down near the chef and watched as he made the ramen. Reiji had always found things like this relaxing or soothing. Watching something slowly being built up and the end result being something amazing whether it be as simple as a lego set or as complex as a SFX artist at work it was always so...relaxing.
The chef place the bowl Infront of Reiji, thanking the man began to dig in from taking it slow as to fully enjoy the meals taste to wolfing it down in seconds
"Whatever you get paid it isn't enough" the old man smiled to himself as he started to wash the pots in a small sink. "I'll see you In a bit old man!" Reiji paided and left the sound of police sirens filled his ears as he smirked "idiots" he proudly mumbled to himself "so they're out for vengeance over anything else, interesting"
Unexpectedly his phone started to ring, picking it out of his pocket he lightly smiled to himself "Irina" he said, answering the phone.
"You alright?"
"Not so bad myself, why'd you call me?"
"To hang out? Seriously?"
"Fine, fine I'll come where?"
"Kouh? Never heard of it"
"You grew up there? Still doesn't ring a bell"
"This is only my second time outside of the UK you can't fault me for that, the last time I went abroad was to France with you remember?"
"I know I wouldn't stop complaining but there was so many damn wasps there"
"Right well I'll see you soon"
"Yep, bye, bye, bye" he hung up, sighed and made his way into another alleyway
"Lord strike me down. Couldn't she of waited a few months?"
When he turned the corner he saw a car with a woman standing next to it, she wore a black tuxedo with blue gloves, tattoos running up her arms and her blue hair that was shaved at the sides but left two blue bangs at the side.
"Boss" the woman's accent was a thick Aussie accent came from her mouth
"Kelli dear, how're you doing today" Reiji's face held his usual calm and cheery expression, but Kelli could see through it, after all she was one of the few people in his close circle she knew of sadistic enjoyment of inflicting pain onto people. He was far from an angle but believed himself better than the nicest devil. He was a churchman after all.
"Not bad, how about you, you sadistic bastard" they entered the car, Kelli in the driver's seat and Reiji in the driver's seat.
"I'll have you know my parents were married" he let out a small chuckle "I've been alright though this rain makes it a pain to light a fag"
"I thought you liked the rain? Reminds you of home" Kelli started to drive to the hotel, though the entered a motorway to kouh and started their long drive.
Reiji looked at his suit case and smiled as he remembered what was inside. The back haired man once again started to roll a fag as he thought about his home land "it's relaxing in a way, nostalgic if you will but it has its downsides just like everything"
Truth be told he loved the rain, water in general but he hated the wind. At least with Kelli he could relax and be himself.
The two remained in silence as she drove, her blue hair drying in the car as he let his black hair down and smoked
"How are your ribs? I know the Niko did a number on you in that crash" she tried to spark a conversation but he wasn't in a talkative mood
"If I'm honest I feel like shit, I'm out of medicine and walking even a few meters hurts like hell" he blew out the warm smoke from his lungs as he rolled down the window
"You should really see a doctor, it's not like you can't afford a top of the line one" Kelli was worried, she liked her boss, her friend a hell of a lot and she didn't want to see him in pain.
"I will at some point" he reassured her though he just wanted to rest
"That girl you mentioned, Irina was it? What's she like?"
He smiled at the mention of her name, he had a soft spot for her not just anyone got his care "she's...innocent, too innocent for her own good"
"Oh?" Kelli wanted him to elaborate
"You remember that guy that tried to hit on you when we first met and you knew exactly what he wanted on first glance?"
"The one at the nightclub that was trying to grope me before you broke his hand?" She let out a small laugh "yeah I remember quite well"
"Yeah well she... probably would've thought that he wanted to be friends" he chuckled, her innocence was cute to him like puppy wanting to play.
Kelli pulled the limo into the drive way, a bright neon sign on the hotel roof reading "the hotel down the road" he smiled as he got out, thanking his friend before entering the hotel he owned in kouh.
He let out a sigh as he entered his room, the penthouse at the very top floor, leaning on the balcony railing a small smile adorned his face "kouh...home sweet home"
