We wake up in chains.

"Those there chains are magic chains," A guard says, from the corner, "They are unbreakable and when you wear them you can't perform magic."

"Yeah, well, if we're normal while wearing these chains, why are there five guards outside our cell?" Johnathan asks.

"Shut up!" The guard sitting in our cell says, hitting Johnathan in the head with his baton.

Johnathan falls on top of me.

"Johnathan, get off of me!" I say.

Johnathan groggily sits up. The J.O. captured us when we infiltrated the building. They were stronger then we had expected, also our magic didn't work properly when we stepped into the building. Sky and Flame got dragged off to a different part of the building and I just hope they're okay.

Eventually, the guard sitting in the cell with us gets tired of us and goes outside to talk with the other guards.

"This doesn't make sense!" I say to myself.

"What doesn't make sense?" Johnathan asks.

"This! Why do they feel so comfortable right now?" We could break free at any minute!" I say.

I try to grow a vine , then just some flowers. I lean back against the wall, defeated. I sit there for a few minutes, but then something pops up in my mind. I sit up straight and I relax.

"What are you doing?" Johnathan asks.

I don't answer, so Johnathan doesn't ask again. I focus on not thinking about what I'm doing, and instead just doing it. A bunch of flowers grow out of the corner.

"How did you do that?" Johnathan whispers, looking at the flowers.

"You know how you sometimes do things without even thinking about them?" I ask.

Johnathan nods.

"Well, it's like that. We can use our powers with out having to think about what we are doing, because it is so natural to us. You have to do instead of thinking about doing," I explain.

Johnathan closes his eyes to try it, and a second later there is a cup in front of us.

"What do you call that technique you just used?" Johnathan asks.

"I call it the D.I.T. Do Instead of Think," I respond.

We hear the clink of a key in the door. Johnathan changes the cup into a stone and puts it in his pocket, while I make the flowers disappear. A guard walks in and sits on the stool in the corner. The door closes again. Johnathan leans his head back against the wall.

'I wish Alexa could hear what I'm thinking, so that we could find a way to break out.'

I look at Johnathan. His eyes are still closed. I wonder if I even heard what I heard.

'I wish we could get out of here.'

I look at Johnathan, his lips aren't moving, but I know that it's his voice I heard.

'Johnathan?'

Johnathan looks at me.

"Did you hear me calling your name?" I ask, in a whisper.

Johnathan nods.

"Hey, you two. Stop talking," The guard in the corner says.

'Johnathan, can you hear me?' I think.

'Yeah, I hear you. How are we communicating through thought?' Johnathan asks.

'I think I just got a new skill,' I answer, 'Let's see if it works on our people.'
