"This is horrible," Johnathan says.

We are sitting at the top of a tree, facing the direction of the city. After we left, a black smog started making its way across the continent. Everywhere you find the black smog, you will find humanity falling apart. People will randomly start a fight, or steal something without even thinking about what it is, some people are even killing others.

"This is the consequence of letting the Forbidden Natural Spirit release its wrath on society," I say.

"Alexa, how do we solve this?" Sky asks.

Sky and Flame look up at me from my lap while Sandy and Flash look at me from Johnathan's lap.

"I don't know yet," I say.

We sit in silence for a moment.

"You know, this reminds me of a line from a book," I say, "'It's like death is making its way across the clearing, swinging its scythe through anyone in its way. Death is never more than a few feet away. Ready to take you as its own. But here, death is sitting on your head. Ready for you to die.'"

"That...was beautiful, but at the same time it was eerie," Johnathan says, "What book is that from?"

"The Monster Hero," I reply.

"I should read that sometime. Not now, but after this is over," Johnathan says, standing up, "Come on, we need to think of a plan, but how about somewhere that isn't a pear tree."

"Okay, my tree isn't that far away. Now lets go," I say, standing up.

I unfurl my wings and kick off from the tree, with Johnathan close behind. As for what happened next, I'd rather not say. After all, how were we suppose to know what was going to happen?
