We walk into Jake's headquarter building and go up to the receptionist at the front desk.
"Excuse me, we are here to see Jake Knight. My name is Alexa and this is Johnathan," I say, placing my hands the counter.
"Um. Right. What were your names again?" The receptionist says, looking at us over the top of her glasses.
"Alexa and Johnathan," I say, again.
She types in our names then freezes.
"I also need your last name, honey," She asks, eyeing our clothes with a look of disgust.
"No last name," Johnathan says.
"Right. Then who are you here to see?" She asks.
"Jake," Johnathan says.
"Jake who? There are multiple people named Jake working here," The receptionist says.
Johnathan looks at me in uncertainty.
"Knight. Jake Knight," I say.
The receptionist looks at me.
"There is no Jake Knight working on the guard or scientist team. Thank you, and have a good day," The receptionist says, going back to her work.
"Of course he isn't on the guard or science team. He is the Jake Knight that formed the J.O. He is your boss, who works all the way up on the 50th floor," I say, trying my best to keep a smile on my face.
"I don't know what you are talking about," The receptionist says.
"Of course you don't. You're a lowly receptionist," I say, dropping the smile and staring at the woman with the same look of disgust she had thrown at me a few minutes earlier.
Everyone in the lobby looks at me and Johnathan, but we don't care. We're here on a mission. I sigh.
"Okay, so Jake isn't expecting us to go through the front door. Now what? If we go through the window, he'll expect that," Johnathan says.
"I know exactly what to do," I say.
I look at the receptionist.
"If you don't have any business here, I will have to ask you to leave the building," She says.
"If your not going to help us, then stay quiet," I say, glaring at her.
I create a dust cloud in the lobby by waving my hand. After 30 seconds, I wave my arm and the dust cloud disperses.
"Do you know who we are?" I ask.
Everyone in the lobby looks at me with a weird look on their faces. I sigh and nod at Johnathan. Then I leap over the receptionist's desk and kick the receptionist in the stomach. The impact causes the receptionist and the chair to topple to the floor. Johnathan heads to the other side of the lobby and takes care of the other receptionist.
"What about the rest of the people here?" I ask Johnathan.
We look around the lobby. Everyone stares at us with a scared look.
"You can leave anytime. Thank you, and have a nice day," I say, putting a smile on my face.
I head towards the elevator as commotion starts in the lobby. Johnathan presses the up button and the doors open. We get in and I press the button for the 50th floor. The door closes and we start moving up. When we reach the 50th floor, we emerge in a white hallway. Across from the elevator is a black double door.
"We're here," Johnathan says, "Do you really think he is expecting us?"
I nod.
"You remember what he said, of course he is expecting us," I say.
