Chapter 12

(Bellwood Harbor, Abandoned Warehouse)

At a large warehouse in the harbor, there's currently someone who were busy lifting weights, when suddenly a hoodie figure came in through the building entrance "Hey boss, we got the shipment."

"So...did they like the offer we gave him, bro?" Asked the man who was lifting the weights, grunting as it was revealed he was lifting over 400 pounds on each side.

"Yeah...luckily, we were able to get it out of back from Sparksville." the hoodie figure replied as he removed the tarp to reveal something glowing under it, making the man smirked in the shadow and walked forward.

"Nice job, Corvo." the man praised with a grin. "And now...no one can beat our weapons with this new power source. I mean, what are the odds of anyone taking us on now?" the mysterious figure boasted before laughing, as his henchmen who's name revealed to be Corvo grinned darkly in the shadows.

(Plumber base)

A ding went off as the elevator's doors slid open, letting Ben walk out in his signature green jacket with white stripes and the number 10 on it, black shirt underneath, blue Jeans, and finally a black and white Converse-style shoes.

The brunet looking around before spotted Max and Rook who seems busy discussing something from afar and walking towards them.

"Sorry I'm late, Grandpa. Forgot that my car broke last night." Ben greeted while explaining his reasoning for being late.

"Great Today is simple surveillance.Since your car's going to be out of commission for a time, Rook has a vehicle we've just modified for stealth in Bellwood." Max explained.

"Yes. It is right there," Rook informed as he pointed to a normal truck with Max's shop's logo on it and an SD version of himself leaning against it with a plunger in hand.

"Oh...." Ben slumped in disappointment upon seeing the truck.

'..Maybe there's more to it than meets the eye?' The brunet hoped internally.

"Wow, I bet the girls will all be screaming when they see this thing coming down the block," Ben joked lightly.

"Females are not afraid of my vehicle," Rook spoke before smiling and taking out a remote of sorts and hitting a button, "But they should be." he smirked, hitting a button as the truck transformed into an alien hover jet.

Ben jaw dropped after seeing the seeming lame truck transforming into an awesome high tech ride. After gained his composure, Ben turned towards Rook with a look of admiration.

"Sometimes you're actually kinda awesome." Ben grinned towards his partner. Rook grinned back as a result of his praise.

A moment later, the duo was now out on surveillance, Rook driving his vehicle as they drove around the town with a rather bored-looking Ben sat beside him looking ahead.

"...I'm not familiar with human emotional cues, but are you angry at me?" Rook asked worryingly at the teenager.

Ben turned his attention towards Rook for a second before sighed and redirecting his attention towards the road ahead "Nah...just bored...you know I've felt more like a tour guide then a hero lately...like 'Over here on your right you'll see a city, over here on your left you'll see water, careful it's wet'." Ben mocked playfully. "I mean, I've saved the universe a million times...at least!"

"That is why I look forward to this," Rook added excitingly, "I hope the real Ben Tennyson lives up to the legends."

This information caught the teenager interest "There are Legends about me?"

"Yes. However, not all of them could be true. For example...Alien X," Rook noted, making Ben raising his eyebrow, "It does not truly exist, does it?"

"Alien X is real," Ben argued.

Rook gave Ben a unconvincing look "if you had such a thing, no villain would ever try facing you."

"But he is real, Rook. There's the drawbacks of using him though...yeah, not worth it." Ben shrugged.

"Drawbacks, such as?" Rook inquired.

"Debating. Lots and lots of debating," Ben frowned, "Honestly, one time I went Alien X for a moment out here, it was several weeks all about a debate on letting the dinosaurs avoid extinction or not for me in it."

"I still do not believe it exists. Please, show me!" Rook spoke excitedly.

"I really don't want to...Last time I tried to use Alien X to stop a guy called Aggregor, I got into a really heated argument with my other personas...I tried to apologize later, but they froze time around the Ultimatrix for three whole days...and, oof, days out here feel like years in his head," Ben groaned frustratingly, "We still never made it past the Dinosaur topic...man he really didn't want to save them..."

"..." Rook seems more unconvincing after hearing Ben statement.

"...Look, Rook. Find us a little heroing to do, and I'll prove to you I can live up to the legend." Ben lazily pulled his jacket sleeves, revealing the Ultimatrix towards his partner.

"How about that?" Rook suddenly pulling to a stop as they saw a trio of little crab-like aliens...eating someone's car.

"...I got this," Ben grinned, moving over a bit as he leaned out the window, causing the aliens to notice him. He was about to select an alien to transform to, but stopped when the small aliens to spit back up the car parts they ate.
