Once again Louise emerged from the bathroom. Having had time to compose herself did not stop her feeling of embarrassment as she caught sight of Monique behind the counter. Monique looked up and moved from behind the counter and approached Louise just as she reached a very crowded section.
"Excuse me Madam, your friend asked me to tell you to check your text messages before you leave."
Her voice was professional and polite and even though she knew she was blushing again, she was grateful for Monique's discretion.
"Thank you very much Monique."
"He forgot the receipt. Please pass it onto him. I got into trouble recently for forgetting to issue a receipt. He may want to claim for tax purposes" she added with a mischievous grin as she folded it in half and handed it to Louise.
Still blushing, Louise smiled and said, "Oh, from what I have seen so far, I wouldn't be surprised if he did just that!"
Giggling like a teenager, Monique nodded in agreement and walked back towards the counter.
Looking down at her phone, Louise stepped out onto the footpath and opened the inbox messages:
'I'm in a white Ford in the car park directly opposite the café, on the other side of the road. It's got dark tint – registration 1ADD 666. Get in the front passengers door.'
There was a second message, from her PA.
Re. Conference call. 'Hello Louise, please call office ASAP regarding scheduling meeting with Environmental Minister tomorrow. Thank you, Becky'.
"Oh Crap", she thought. Friday was already very hectic but there was no avoiding the Minister. She had it on good authority that George's company "Wiseman Environmental Services Pty Ltd" otherwise known as "WES" had been 'chosen' as a shining example of a waste disposal company utilising the latest technology to minimise the negative impact into the environment of the hundreds and thousands of tonnes of rubbish that was collected from the community every week. Her boss had the foresight to also invest in a large recycling plant thereby creating an entity that the general public viewed as a very modern and environmentally aware company that was doing its best to reduce the levels of pollution into the atmosphere and waterways. Tim Hewitt, the environmental minister for the ruling WA Liberals and his entourage wanted to plan a visit to her offices including a tour around the plant. There might even be some press attending so arrangements would have to be made with various supervisors to ensure all was ready and the best possible impression was conveyed to the TV audience, probably a 1 minute grab at best.
'BEEP, BEEP'.... The loud horn from a passing car snapped her out of the distracted muddle her thoughts were in. She had stepped off the footpath onto the road without looking up from her phone and stopped abruptly, nearly being cleaned up by a courier van as the driver hurried along Beaufort Street away from the City. Startled, she looked up just in time to see the driver glaring angrily through the rear view mirror.
She apologetically raised her hand upwards causing the driver to give another two, long loud BEEPS!Bodie had seen this from the carpark and was laughing, even though poor Louise had nearly been run over! Seeing a clearing in the traffic, Louise hurried across the road into the carpark and immediately recognised Bodies' Artic white SUV. The tint was indeed dark and had it not been for the number plates, she would not have approached it as she actually couldn't see him inside. The engine was running and the air-conditioning was on. As instructed, she opened the front passenger door and climbed in. As she shut the door, the central locking activated, startling her once again as she was still not aware of Bodies presence. Her concerns were once again allayed by Bodies' smooth, low voice.
"I'm glad you could make it. If that courier driver had of been travelling a little bit slower, I would be picking up bits of you from all over the road".
"You saw that? Oh my god, yes that was close. Can I blame that on you too?" she asked, almost sincerely and laughing loudly.
"You could try but on this occasion, I don't think so Miss Black."
"Oh nooo, don't say that!"
"What, Miss Black?"
"Yes, that's what most of the workers call me at the Company and I certainly don't want to be confusing work with where I am now!"
Even when he chuckled, he sounded sexy and she couldn't help joining him, breaking into a giggle.
"Fair enough my beautiful, obedient Louise," his authoritive but soothing tone returned as if he had pressed a switch.
"Now pass me your handbag"
Dutifully, Louise passed her handbag to Bodie sitting in the rear seat. She had thought to ask why he wasn't in the front and why he wanted her handbag but his directives quickly dissolved the questions and she remained in position, seated in the front passenger seat, staring intently ahead through the windscreen out across the road not knowing what to expect next from this exciting, sexy, masterful man.
The nerves, the scepticism and all the questions that weighted on her mind prior to entering the Café only two hours earlier had dissipated to an almost trance-like state, not dissimilar to how she felt during her regular meditation sessions. Her inner thoughts were ones of calm but excitement. She hardly knew this man but what had just happened in the Café along with the long phone chat last night were like a special combination of drugs that were working in a very pleasurable and relaxing way. She could hear Bodie opening and rummaging around inside her handbag and even this forbidden action, a strange man looking inside her handbag didn't faze her in the slightest, although her level of curiosity rose even higher. 'Does he know how much I want to turn around and look'? she thought.
Does he know how strange this is all for me? Does he realise the extraordinary amount of control he is having over my mind and body? These thoughts zipped through her brain and she desperately wanted to talk, to say something, to get some answers from this wonderful devilish man.
