Louis walked to his dresser, scanning the open drawers for something to wear.
The boys were coming over within the hour unless Liam ran late while picking up
Niall.
He picked out a pair of grey sweatpants and slipped them on over his socks and boxers.
Migrating to his top drawers, he looked for a shirt or sweatshirt. He had on a white tank top as an undershirt as he stood there, the same one from the day before.
Louis picked out a comfy blue crew neck sweatshirt and put it over his tank top.
He wanted to look a bit more like Harry. If he could wear Harry's whole wardrobe, he would in a heartbeat.
But that didn't seem like an option. Harry's fashion was bold at times, and no one but Liam knew he was gay.
Unless I tell Harry...
Louis walked to the mirror and smiled at his reflection. The crew neck was loose-fitting, just like the types Harry wore. Subtle, but cute nonetheless.
Louis wondered if Liam had noticed Louis' slight changes in fashion over the past school year. He always stuck to strictly masculine clothes at school, but when he hung out with Liam, he tended to wear soft boy clothing here and there. But never too many.
Louis trusted Liam with full confidence. Liam had been his best friend for so long that Louis would be lost without him. Even after coming out, Liam never treated him any differently but showed his confusion for the reason why Louis kept going out with girls in middle and high school anyways.
Louis wasn't sure how to explain his need for other people to think he was straight. The fear of them finding out was the driving force of the majority of his decisions - what he wore, who he dated, how he acted.
His home felt like the only safe place, and he rarely had anyone over that he didn't trust.
He trusted Liam and Harry, and he knew that if Niall ever found out, he'd be supportive and accepting. Louis could tell Niall was just that type of person from their interactions at football - with Niall there was no judgment.
His only exception was the girls he used to have over. He cringed at the thought of getting into bed with them and leading them on while hiding his sexuality.
It never felt right with them. It wasn't natural.
His wandering thoughts were interrupted when the doorbell rang. Liam wasn't one to ring the doorbell because Louis had given him a spare key, so it had to be Harry.
Harry.
Even the thought of Harry made Louis grin, but he quickly hid the smile when he went downstairs to greet Harry. He opened the door and there he stood.
The sun shone on Harry's hair and the brown curls seemed golden in the light.
Oh what Louis would do to get his hands all up in Harry's hair. Not just to touch the perfect curls, but to sit with Harry and run his fingers through Harry's hair and breathe in the smell of his shampoo.
Or maybe while making out.
Louis hid a smile at the thought and looked back into Harry's sparkling green eyes.
"Come in Harry. Liam and Niall will be here in a bit, unless Liam runs late. He's not the most timely kid I've met." Louis said with a nervous chuckle, trying to calm his sudden anxiety.
Harry smiled, and his dimples looked so cute to Louis. "Thanks mate."
He walked in and took off his Vans, placing the, neatly next to the front door as Louis closed it behind them.
