I hugged my friend goodbye before walking to my own station. My smile slowly faded as I realized I had to wait for at least fifteen minutes before my ride comes. I fold my hands to my chest to heat myself up a bit. The cold winds of December are annoyingly unbearable, luckily the rainy season had already passed. The line slowly moved forward and I was glad I made it in. After I sat comfortably, I fished my phone from my pocket and plugged my earphones. I pressed play then nobody knows by Russ blasted. I closed my eyes to feel the vibe even more.

My phone dinged and softly vibrated. I opened the notification with curiosity. My friends usually chats me at eight so I was really not expecting any chats right now. It was from an unknown number. I raked my brain, trying to figure out why the hell was there an unknown number texting me. It was just a plain hi so I replied with three question marks.

I exit from the text box then open our group chat. I typed ‘Who the hell gave away my digits?’ My friends saw it then immediately reacted with a laughing emoji. The number replied again, asking if I know a Keshin. Okay maybe he is a friend of my friend? I feel like I have to help him my guy friend who is always missing.

It took me two minutes just to say ‘Yes, but idk where he is rn.’ His reply made my brows meet. My fingers froze, not touching my phone screen. I unconsciously bit my lower lip as I read his reply for the fifth time. He said he wasn’t really looking for Kenshin but he wanted to now talk with me instead. I replied ‘not interested. Lol.’ The group chat was now asking me a lot of questions and figuring out who gave my number away.

‘It’s my grandmother.’ I sent with a laughing emoji to stop them from doubting. Before I locked my phone I read a threat from my best friend. I looked out of the window before giving my fare. After a few moments I told the driver to stop. The cold wind greeted me once I got out. My steps were lazy as I made my way home. It’s not like I was rushing anyways. I tried my best to stop myself from dancing to Troye Sivan’s youth.

I hear my phone ding once more and it’s from the stranger. ‘I am Kurt, nice to meet you’ with a smiley. My eyes rolled but I replied ok nonetheless.
My younger brother was playing with our dog, Potty. I smiled as I watched him laugh when Potty sat on his lap. I went near them before kneeling to their level. “Hey Theo, how’s your day.” The moment he heard my voice, he darted towards me while giggling. Without any warning, he moved past me then opened my bag to search for food. I scoffed, here I was thinking that we could have our moment together. I glared at him but he opened the bag of chips before offering it to me. Ugh! Such a gentleman.

My phone sounded again but I ignored it. It dinged again and again then again. The sound was starting to piss me off. My brother kept putting chips in my mouth and who was I to refuse right?
“Noisy, Em!” Now it’s my brother’s turn to be annoyed. He glared at me sharply because of my noisy phone. It was all from that Kurt dude. I muttered a sorry then stood up. The messages were all hi with a total of thirty three. I messaged him to stop and he gladly did. We entered the house when we finished the chips. “Go drink your water Theo.” I said before ushering him to the kitchen.
I went to my room to change then my phone started receiving notifications again. Looks like he won’t stop anytime soon. He was asking random questions to obviously start a topic. That isn’t going to work sir, I say to myself. I throw my phone on my bed but then my ringtone rung.

Why the hell is he calling now? I stood there like an idiot staring at my phone until the call ended. Once the phone went silent, I grabbed it then texted him immediately. ‘Why the hell did you call, stranger.’

‘Why didn’t you answer, Mary?’ I brush my hair using my fingers then licked my lips. I lay down to my bed then replied.
Before I knew it, it was already time for dinner.

My grandmother was looking at the television. The headline was about the rapidly increasing rate of teenage pregnancy on our country. She sneered then her eyes moved to me. I raised my eyebrows to her and mentally prepared myself for her lecture.

“Look at that rate! Mary! Prioritize your studies or else I will kick you out of this house.” She says while pointing her finger at me. She can’t “kick me out of this house” because this is my mother’s. I could only nod my head to everything she is saying. After dinner, I washed the dishes then went directly to my room.
I opened my phone and was actually glad he stopped texting me. There were tons of chats from my squad though. My friend requested a meeting for the group work so I entered. Fortunately, doing the task was not that hard because the members surprisingly were participating.

“Are you lost baby girl?” My group mates and I were laughing hysterically because of that line. We actually finished the task half an hour ago but they decided to hang out for a bit. “Holy freaking shit! I swear that is creepy AF!” There goes another round of laughter. “I knew I shouldn’t have watched that movie but I still did. I never blinked.”
Our laughter didn’t die down until one of us started having internet connection problems. We finally said our goodbyes.
I was scrolling through my Facebook account when Kurt sent a good night message. I sent a thumbs up then I also closed my eyes, entering dreamland.
