“How was yesterday?” Kaye asked. “I bet it was wonderful. You should have seen how she froze when her man came.” Rose and Kaye laughed hysterically. They even high fived each other. “She was like.” Rose tried to re-enact my expression yesterday which was obviously super exaggerated. The other lunatic laughed again with matching slap on Rose’s upper arm. “It was like meeting her prince charming for the first time bitch. Love at first sight. Mannequin challenge at its best.” Another fit of laughter.

I could only face palm myself. “How the hell am I friend with two crazy bitches? I hate you guys.” The two exchanged glances then laughed so hard until Rose started crying because her stomach hurts. “Oh shush your drama, you can’t even live a day in this school without us.” Kaye said sassily. “Go on tell us what happened.”

“After you left, Kurt’s friends also did.” I paused when I saw them like children listening to fairy tales. I heaved a deep sigh before resuming. “We went to the arcade and played two rounds of basketball. Kurt lost a bet because I cheated so he sang a song for me. Next is the cinema. We watched Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. We ate then he took me to the station.” Kaye rolled her eyes and Rose folded her arms to her chest.

“We want juicy tea, not a summary.” Rose exclaimed. I roll my eyes at them. “You literally saw every single story I uploaded. We even talked about how he held my hand in that boomerang clip.” Both of them looks disappointed and I don’t know why.

“That’s it? You just watched, ate, and then went home? That’s the ending?” I shrugged. Sometimes I don’t really know how far their imagination can travel. “What were you expecting to happen?” I timidly asked. Kaye and Rose looked at each other then they pouted their lips. My eyes widened as realization dawn. I slapped their legs. “You expect us to kiss on our first date!”

Rose glared at me with sharp eyes. “So what if you guys kissed? Some even have sex after their first hand shake.” She has her point but still. “I won’t lower myself to match their level.” Kaye suddenly stood up then clap her hands right in front of my face. “Holy dang! You’re starting to learn your lessons.” The duo gave each other a high five, wearing a proud expression like a mother would after witnessing her child succeed.

“Okay let’s just go to class.”
I sat beside Rose and Kaye was in front of us. We had to stick close to each other since it was our last subject for the day. It was so boring, we had to pinch each other on our sides to be able to stay awake and take notes. I really hate rushed lessons before tests.

My phone vibrated and Rose felt it too. I looked at her weirdly when she held the book in a standing position at my table. “Read it.” She whispered. It was from Kurt asking me what time we’ll be off. I smiled as I reply a ‘5’ before hitting the send button. Rose lightly pinched my side with a teasing smile. She even wiggles her eyebrows like she knows some miracle will happen. Tsk as if there really is.

She flipped her notebook then wrote at the end page of it. She tore it then handed it to sleepy Kaye. Kaye jolted to her seat then glanced at me wearing the same expression as Rose. I know both of them were expecting something will happen between Kurt and I. I do too but not that intimate. I blush at the thought of us kissing. Ugh!

“Class dismissed.” The three of us went running to the hallways. Luckily, regular classes often end at three or four so there were just a few students on campus at that moment. We stood by the gate, waiting for our own ‘company’. Not even a minute had passed when Kaye’s boyfriend came. We waved but no goodbyes. It was a mutual understanding between us. Don’t say goodbye unless we won’t be seeing each other for a long time.

Rose got a call but she ended it after exchanging a few words. “My cousin is on the other street. He said his friends are keeping him from coming here so I should probably go and fetch him instead.” I nod my head. Rose smiled before patting my shoulder. “He’ll come in no time.” She started walking to the opposite side of our school.

“Hey.” Kurt tapped me from behind. I looked at him then smiled. Gosh he really is handsome. He literally smacked a rose in my face. I immediately stepped back and covered my eyes while laughing. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to. I just wanted to surprise you.” He removed my hand and held my chin. It made me look up to his face. He is even more gorgeous up close. His dark brown eyes, pointy nose, and lips. I swallowed hard. “Are your eyes alright?” he asked while moving my face at a random direction. Damn it! I’ve never been close to a boy before. This is my first time and now our faces are just inches apart. Aren’t we moving too fast?
I moved away from his touch and nodded. He deeply chuckled before getting my bag again. I let him do it this time. I started to walk but then I felt like he wasn’t following. I turned around and he really isn’t. I raised my eyebrows at him. Kurt started walking towards me and stopped right beside me.

He looks nervous and now so am I. Kurt stared directly into my eyes as if he was reading a mystery book. He took a deep breath then held my hand before walking. I looked at our hands and blushed as red as a tomato. I could feel his gaze at me. Kurt chuckled and pinched my cheeks. “You’re cute.”
We kept on walking hand in hand. I thought he was going to let go of my hand anytime but he didn’t. He was with me until my ride arrived.
