"The hell where is he?" Rose's patience was running short by the passing minute. We have been sitting in one of the tabled benches near the lake. It's already been thirty minutes and yet nothing. I texted him and he said he was on the way but that was ten minutes ago. "I swear if he doesn't show up in five you will go home and never talk to the man again." I can't help but nod. I can't really blame her for saying those. He told us to meet him at Rose Garden, four in the afternoon but he was still nowhere to be found. Kaye was with us but her boyfriend came and took her home.
"Do you have your power bank with you?" I gave her my connector and power bank. Rose stared at the lake with wandering eyes. I averted my eyes to the lake. There weren't many boats at that moment. Most of them are couples who couldn't seem to keep their hands to themselves. Some boats moved slowly and some raced others.
Footsteps stopped at our back so we turned to look. A tall boy stood close to our spot. He was wearing a plain black shirt that is slightly larger than him. His blue jeans fit just right with his black sneakers. "Mary?" I stood up automatically. Holy shit he is tall. I look up to him and nod. "Kurt."
I nodded again. "You've got company." Rose bluntly said as she did a small salute towards them. "Uh yeah. This my best friend Markus and...Leah." Leah smiled for a second but it didn't reach her eyes. I must admit, I felt insecure because of her beauty. She also looks taller than me. "Hi, I'm Mary and this is one of my best friends, Rose."
"So...Shall we go?" Kurt asked. Rose held my arm for me to face her. She fixed her things and gave me the power bank back. "I have to go home. I came here with you just to make sure he really is coming." Rose's mouth really had no brakes. She tells everything she wants. Kurt laughed softly. "I didn't mean to be late you know. I won't leave her here after asking her to come." Rose nodded. "It's good to hear that then. I'll be heading off first, see you tomorrow." She waved goodbye and left without a second glance.
"Let's go?" Kurt grabbed my bag and walked. I catch up to him to get my bag back. He didn't give it though. I tried jumping to reach the strap but he really is tall, almost a foot taller. Marcus was laughing at the back. Leah just silently walked shaking her head from time to time. Marcus fake coughed, "Ouch I've been bit by an ant. Ouch too sweet." I look at Kurt then to Marcus then to Kurt again. We burst out laughing but we continued walking.
"Guys my baby called, I have to go." Marcus said with a playful smile while giving us flying kisses. "Eww Marcus! No one likes your kisses. Just go!" We looked at Leah. I smiled at her but she stared at Kurt before leaving. That was a little rude but I won't dare question her because Rose is sometimes like that.
"In the end it's just me and you huh?" Kurt asked.
We went to the arcade and played basketball first. We are about to start our second round. "If you win, I'll sing a song for you over there," He said pointing at the karaoke in front of many people "but if I win you will have to change your FB bio." Since I am competitive as hell, I agreed. Of course basketball is not one of my strength but cheating is.
We played side by side and he was obviously winning. I looked up to him and saw an annoyingly handsome man wearing a smile of victory. Almost all of the balls that I had been throwing didn't make it to the hoop. Now was the time to bring out my trump cards. "Hey look Marcus is making out with Leah over there!" I pointed at the entrance where many people are standing by.
As expected, his eyes wandered with worry and curiosity. "Where?" He moved out of his place, desperately searching for his friends. "Over there, near the C.R. go and look for them." I said then tried to shoot as many as I could. My score tied up to his but it looks like he was willing to lose just to see his friends making out.
"I win!" I jumped happily then went to him. I dragged Kurt to show him our scores. He looked disappointed by the result but I didn't care because I still won. "Go on sing for me." I ushered him to the karaoke before sitting in one of the front seats. After reserving his song he came and sat with me. We sang along to the other songs before us.
"Selfie?" He asked which I agreed on. We took a couple of pictures with filters and some without. He took me by surprise when he held my hand and took a boomerang of it while rubbing his thumb on mine. I feel the blood rushing to my face so I lowered my head. I removed my hand from his and pretended to fix my hair. Lord help me, I silently prayed.I feel excited, nervous, and tingly all over. I wanted to shout but I was afraid I might frighten him.
"Oh it's my song." He stood up then went to the mini stage. He smiled at me before he started singing. Ugh! His freaking perfect smile hit me hard. I bit my lower lip to stop my smile but I guess that couldn't help me right now. My smile went from ear to ear the whole time he was singing Treasure by Bruno Mars. His voice was a bit raspy and deep, I thought it was sexy as hell. He unconsciously brushed his hair with his hand. Dang it, he's so hot!
I took my phone out then snapped a few pictures and a boomerang for my IG story. He finished his song so we made our way to the exit.
"Let's continue our date in the cinema shall we?" I froze. Holy molly! It's a freaking date. He smiled at me again before pulling me to the cinema.
