My eyes open and dart around, almost blindly, searching for the noise that had woken me. The noise came again and I realize it's a whimper. I notice I have strong arms wrapped around me as well as a chin resting on top of my head. And the third most embarrassing thing is that I'm snuggled into his chest.

I attempt to pull away only for his grip to instinctively tighten. If I wasn't a vampire it might've actually hurt me. The noises continue and they sound heartbreakingly sad. "Klaus," I say, pushing against his chest to try and wake him up, but to no avail. In fact it only succeeded in making him clutch even tighter to me, I wince as he crushes the bones in one of my arms.

"Ow! Klaus!" Suddenly a memory that isn't mine plays through my head. I flinch as Klaus' screams fill my head as his bones break and reform like a werewolf does when it transforms. "Klaus!" Elijah shouts as he races toward him only for the man he's with to stop him, holding him back.

"Father! It's hurts! It hurts!" My heart breaks as he cries and screams in pain, wrenching his head back, eyes glowing and the veins in his face raising. "He's a beast! An abomination!" Suddenly the man, who I assume is Klaus' father, is chaining him to some wooden structure. Klaus fights, but his father pushes him back.

"Elijah, hold him down!" He hesitates as Klaus continues to struggle. "Now, boy!"

"Please, brother! Don't let them do this to me!" He pleads with fear in his eyes as Elijah comes over and holds him down despite his protests. Klaus gazes pleadingly into his brother's eyes. "Help me."

Tears fill my eyes as Klaus jolts awake, releasing me, and appearing on the other side of my room. The tears fall, not because of the pain in my arm, but from the pain in my heart as I realize what they did to him. I push myself up into a sitting position, quickly wiping the tears away. I look up at him. I can tell by the look in his eyes this hasn't happened before and it isn't something he'd tell or show anyone casually.

"How could someone be so cruel?" I whisper without thinking and Klaus' eyes widen in shock, a tear escaping from his eye. He wipes it away with the sleeve of his sweater, clearing his throat. "Well, um, it would appear that your humanity is back. Quicker than I expected. You may return home whenever you wish," he says quickly and before I can open my mouth to tell him I don't want to he disappears, leaving my door wide open.

I bring my legs, pulling my knees to my chest, confusing emotions filling my heart. "Nik! Watch where you're going!" I hear Rebekah shout before coming up the stairs. She pokes her head into my room and I look at her. "Did something happen?"

"That's putting it lightly," I say and she comes in, sitting down beside me. "Tell me."

"Um, I woke up and heard Klaus whimpering in his sleep."

"Whimpering? That's not a word used to describe anything associated with Nik. Ever."

"Anyway, I tried waking him up but it wasn't working. He grabbed me so hard he crushed my arm, but that's not the weirdest part."

"Take your time," she says sarcastically and I shake my head. "I think he shared a memory with me."

"Oh, god which one?" She asks with great concern and I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. "If I were to guess the night when they locked away his werewolf side." Rebekah sighs and adjusts her position. "Nik never hated father more than that night. Or our mother for that matter."

"How could they do that to him? They took away half of who he is." Rebekah smiles and I stare at her. "What?"

"Nothing. Most people would look at it as making him less dangerous. Less of an abomination."
