Jess's POV:

"STOP!" I screamed trying to get to the pair. They just kept going and going. Suddenly Riker was on the ground.

I had a sudden flash back of my

Dream. Then, my worst night mare happened. Hayden pulled out a shiny black object and pointed it straight at Riker. "Good bye Popstar" He growled.

"NO!" I screamed breaking free. It felt like I was moving in slow motion. Riker screamed. Everybody did, finally I flung myself over Rikers body. Then it all went black.

Rydel's POV:

"JESS!" I cried running forward, I watched as the bullet hit her. Her body collapsing onto Riker's. Hayden sunk to the ground, "No" he whispered. "NO!" Rocky grabbed him, in one punch he was knocked out. Ry rung an ambulance, Ross rung mum and dad.

"Jess? Come one. Please? Stay with me" I said as tears began to fall. She didn't move, nor did Riker. "please... Please? Both of you wake up" I cried. Rocky hugged me, as I cried into his shirt.

"the ambulance will be here

Soon" Ry said joining us. He was crying too, I pulled him into a hug and we stayed there until it arrived.

* five hours later*

"The Lynches please?" a doctor called out. The lot of us rushed forward, "Yes that's us" mum said.

"I have good news.. And Bad new.. " she said.

"What is it?" Rocky said.

"Well the good news is that young Riker is awake, and you can see him now" she started.

"A-and the bad?" I said, the doctor looked sad.

"The bad news... Well Jess is in a coma. We're not sure when she's going to wake up. Or if she will"

I broke down crying. My best friend? My sister? She might die? "no" I whispered, "no she can't, can't you do anything? Please?" I begged the doctor shook her head sadly.

"I'm sorry, no. You can see Riker if you wish" we nodded and went to see him. He was sitting up in bed, tubes attached him to drips and a heart monitor.

"RIKER!" Mum ran forward. We had a group hug. "I'm so glad your okay!" Rocky said. Riker smiled, he looked round the room.

"Wheres J? Is she okay?" he asked, we all shared looks. "r-Riker... J's in a coma.. She dived infront of you to save you...She might not wake up" Rocky said softly. I saw the hurt in Rikers eyes, I felt the same way.

"WHAT?!" he shouted, tears streaming down his face. We explained what happened. By the end we were all crying.

"S-she saved me?" I nodded, he stretched out his arms. I walked into his hug and we cried together.

"sorry to interrupt... But I thought you should know that Riker can go home tomorrow morning. But you all have to go for the moment. You may come back tomorrow" we nodded and said our goodbyes.

*Three months later*

Rikers POV:

I was in Jess's hospital room, alone. I had skipped practice to come see her. I needed to be the first one she saw

When she woke up.

The doctor had told us to prepare for the worst. If she didn't wake up this week, they would have to turn the life support off. It was Saturday now, she had a day left.

"Your make it J. I know you will" I said softly gripping her hand. She looked peaceful, in a strange way. Tubes and wired hooked her

To different machines.

I hate Hayden even more now. He was rotting away in some cell. I hoped he died for what he did to my J.

As last call for visitors came, I said

Goodbye. Gently pressing my lips to hers, I left for the night. "see you tomorrow J..." I whispered as I shut the door.
