"I'm so ready for your bachelorette party. It's bout to be so cute and lit at the same time" Lani told me as I laid in her bed with her, eating a bag of takis while I laid on her
"As long as it ain TOO wild"
"No, none of that. Ion want Benji to kill you.. I do need to know what kinda drinks you want"
"Get whatever. It don't matter to me"
"Yes it do. It's your party"
"So?" I asked as I ate a taki and she looked at me "it's nothing like ima be drinking"
"Why not? How you ain gone be lit at your own party? I'm pretty sure Benji gone be lit"
"I'm pretty sure he is."
Lani frowned her face up
"You make me sick.. with them stank ass chips"
"Bitch thats you that smell like that. Don't blame my chips"
"Fuck you. That's them chips" she laughed and I sat up
"You and Benji gone stay off my chips. This baby stressing me and this the only thing I could keep down"
"Who? Hendrix"
"No" I shook my head while rolling the bag up "the baby i-umm...." I quickly trailed off into silence realizing what I just said and Lani's mouth dropped open while she smiled
"Unt Unt! Kay.. you pregnant?"
I stayed quiet and she snatched the bag of chips from me
"Stop!"
"Answer my question! You pregnant?"
"Yeah"
"Say some right now!"
"I wish I could but I really am. Girl I cried"
"Whyyy? You not excited?"
"I mean, I am but at the same time I'm just nervous more than I was with Hendrix"
"For what?"
"Cause" I shrugged and sighed "I'm already stressed out enough and now this. And honestly I just don't want the stress to get bad and I lose this baby"
"We ain letting that happen. Who all know?"
"Just you. We ain told nobody yet. We just found out Tuesday and I had my appointment today"
"How far along are you?"
"6 weeks. I'm due in November"
"I know Benji happy as hell"
"He soooo happy Lani. And honestly that's one of the things making me REALLY excited about this new baby"
"I hope this one is a girl" she smiled while rubbing my stomach
"Me too cause after this one, it's nomore Forreal. I wasn't ever as sick with Hendrix as I am with this one ALREADY"
"Karma" I could hear my mom say as she walked into Lani's room, holding a wine glass in her hand as Benji walked in behind her with his phone to his ear
"You must've dropped Hendrix off and came straight back home?" I asked him and he nodded before resuming his conversation with whoever
"Did y'all pick up Hendrix's suit?"
"Yeah. We got it while we were out today" I answered "what's in that glass?"
"One of my friends started her own wine company. It taste good, taste it" she handed me the glass and before I could put it to my lips Benji came out of nowhere and grabbed the glass, handing it back to my mom
"Girlll" Lani laughed and I sighed
"I almost forgot that fast. Damn" I muttered and my mom looked at me
"Karma... you pregnant?"
"6 weeks"
"Forreal?!" She asked as she started smiling "and I'm just now finding out! How long you knew?"
"We just found out ma" I told her as Benji hung up the phone and sat down on the bed, laying back across my legs
"I know y'all excited. I hope this ones a girl"
"Like I told Lani, this one better because I'm not having NO more babies. I been feeling so bad the past couple of days ma and the only thing I can eat is this" I held up the bag of takis while she sipped from her glass
"You don't need to be eating them. Unless you wanna complain about heartburn and indigestion later on. AND you really gotta take it easy now"
"That's what I told her but you know she stubborn" Benji told her and I sucked my teeth
"Momma I'm tryina take it easy"
"Don't try.. DO! What all do you two have to do this weekend?"
"I just gotta give the final head count, confirm the Dj, make sure my dress is done. I'm going to try that on next week so I need y'all to go with me cause he obviously can't go"
"Alright. You found somebody to do your nails and toes?"
"Yeah. She's gonna do them the morning of.. oh, and one more thing.. I'm planning on meeting up with my dad"
They all looked at me while ma stopped in the middle of drinking again. Benji sat up
"For what?"
I shrugged "I just feel like it's some stuff I really need to get off of my chest so I can feel better. I just wanna start this new chapter of my life fresh"
"Well kay, you grown and you know what's best for you. If that's what you gotta do to be free then you do that. But just remember we don't need you stressing"
"I don't know when ima go talk to him but I know I want to so I can just, move on I guess"
"Well on the bright side.. look at my sister" Lani smiled "who would've thought when you and Benji first got together y'all would be right here where y'all are now"
" I ain lyin" Benji muttered while he laid back on me again and started texting Nunu
"That's cause Benji love him some me" I smiled while I grabbed his face as he kept his eyes on his phone "don't you baby?"
He eventually looked up at me "who lied. Ion like you"
I sucked my teeth and pushed him off of me
"Move. BYE"
"I ain moving nowhere"
He was about to lay back on my legs again but I moved them and got up
"Kay" ma laughed, watching me as I stood up
"Ion wanna hear it. He better not say nothing else to me" I responded while I walked out of the room, feeling some type of way Forreal
