"How you like it?" The lady asked as I looked at myself in the mirror.
"I love it"
I continued to stare at myself in the mirror at the wedding dress. My ball gown style white dress with a sweetheart neckline, tons of jewels, and multiple layers of tule was beyond perfect! I felt exactly like the princess I wanted to look like on my day
I turned around and saw Lani smiling while my mom covered her mouth, crying
"Ma. I know you not crying"
"Shut up" she laughed while wiping her eyes "I'm just so happy for you"
"Does it feel too tight or loose?" The lady asked and I shook my head
"No but let's pray this baby don't show until after the wedding cause this is literally just enough room for me"
She laughed "oh you're pregnant? Congratulations!"
"Thank you" I smiled, hearing somebody walk into the shop.
"Kayla yours late already" some girl at the front said and as the other girl responded, I turned around as well as Lani
When I saw Kayla going behind the counter sitting her stuff down my heart felt like it sank into my stomach for some reason
"What's wrong kay?" My mom asked as she followed me and Lani's gaze but I shook my head, turning to look back at the mirror again
"Nothing..."
"So you're sure it's good enough for you?"
I nodded, running my hands down the dress "yeah. Let me take this thing off before I try to go home in it"
"And she probably will.. go ahead and take it off" ma told me and I laughed, stepping off of the platform with their help and went to the dressing room. After I managed to get out of the dress I met my mom and Lani, grabbing my phone from Lani
"Why Benji ain text me yet to let me know how my baby doing?"
"They probably ain even thinking about you"
I rolled my eyes with my face frowned up while I text him to see what they were doing
"I'm really starting to think Hendrix a daddy's boy Forreal"
"You just starting to realize that?"
"I meannnn.." I shrugged "I would think he'd be a momma's boy but no. He like being all up under Benji and ion like that too much. You can literally give a child life and they still run to their daddy"
"You'll be alright. You gotta whole new one coming. Try again with that one" ma said as she rubbed my stomach while we started to head to the front and Kayla looked me right in the face
"Alright we've got your dress ready and prepared so all well have to do is have it brought to you that morning" the woman told me with a smile and I nodded, avoiding eye contact with Kayla
"Okay. Thank you"
"Make sure don't nothing happen to my sister dress now" Lani told them and I laughed, peeping Kayla rolling her eyes
" I can promise you, her dress will be perfect when she gets it.. I'll see you all in a couple of weeks.. oh and karma congratulations on the baby again"
"Thank you" I smiled again before walking out of the store behind my mom and Lani
