athena rosewood was full of nervousness but so much excitement. when cedric proposed the idea of putting his name in the goblet of fire, athena couldn't help but think that he was bloody insane.

risking your life and competing through an entire list of tasks with death written all over it? having no idea what to expect ever but your actual life is on the line? athena couldn't keep the thoughts for super long without feeling nauseous.

after contemplating it while sitting next to her two friends, who wanted to enter, and walking throughout the hall not even beginning to understand why they would think it was a good idea, athena finally understood a little bit more.

she could pick up on the excitement they both radiated. cedric and edmund were suddenly more excited as they got closer to the door of the goblet of fire, athena could feel cedric's heart as it raced while his hand laid in hers.

after much much thought, she wasn't angry anymore or sad. both of these boys she loved wholeheartedly knew what they were expected of, she trusted them to know if something did happen, that they could get out of it.

seeing the pure joy the two boys had once their name was put in had made athena feel better. her favorite two boys in the world with the biggest smiles on their faces, hugging others and each other out of excitement. she couldn't help but feel warmth and happiness.

even with the blue fire illuminating everyone's faces, everyone could see how happy cedric diggory was. athena felt so incredibly lucky to be loved by someone so marvelous as him. cedric diggory when happy could easily stop a room and make everyone smile. he was that radiant.

the day after was the 31st. it was the day of hallowee'en and usually, things would be celebrated very differently, but the triziward tournament took over it all. this celebration was quite important but the triwizard tournament was definitely more important.

athena had begun to wake up when the light from the window starting hitting her eyes. her brown hair was absolutely strung everywhere, her bedhead strictly obvious. her hands rubbed her eyes to brush away any sleep left and when she could see sharply again, her eyes met with a note that sat on the nightstand.

with little hesitation, she grabbed the crumbly piece of brown paper in her hands. there was black ink on the paper, a little bit smudged but still eligible.

sweet athena,

       early quidditch practice this morning

       you'll be awake soon and

you won't make it to breakfast,

so please eat something i left.

       see you later, pumpkin.

with great love and yours truly,

        ceddy.

athena couldn't help but smile and let out a small giggle, pressing the note against her forehead with disbelief. her eyes glanced to the plate that sat on her wood nightstand, a few different breakfast foods still having heat rise from them.

she thought of how her parents had called her pumpkin from time to time growing up.

a small pink flower sat beside the plate, something that could've been in one of the gardens outside. athena sat up and grabbed the flower, quickly smelling it and smiling to herself. how did she get so lucky to be loved by him, she thought.
