"Roman, he didn't mean it like that.." Remus says to his brother, who was currently having a mental breakdown. "You're right, he didn't mean it like that! He couldn't even tell me the truth; your boyfriend had to! Janus knows when Thomas lies, Remus! And he lied about me still being his ‘hero’, well," Roman says, dark tear trails appearing under his eyes.

"That's fine. If I can't be the hero," he continues. "Roman, don't.." Remus says, holding his hands up almost defensively. "Then I guess I'll have to be the villain."

"Hello, Virgil~" Roman says, appearing in the living room on the couch beside him. He was wearing the King's crown, and instead of white, his outfit was black, outlined with gold, and a darker red sash.

Virgil looked at him carefully. "R-roman." he responded. Roman smirks. "What? Cat got your tongue? See something you like~? What's got you stuttering~?" Virgil took a deep breath before speaking.
"Roman, please, don't do this.. I know you're hurting but-" he starts, but Roman quickly interrupted. "Hurting? Oh no love, I've never felt better~ why would someone like me have any reason to hurt? I can see now why you were so hesitant to switch, Virgil~ for once, I'm important, I'm listened to! Come on, you still love me, right~? I mean, I heard the more you love yourself, the more others will love you. And I love myself, for the first time in years~"

"Of course I love you... But.. Roman, using your darkside's power won't make you feel better, believe me, I know.. Being paranoia... It felt good at first, holding that kind of power... But all I wanted was to be listened to, and included.. When you and the others always talked to me like another person rather than someone to fear... It made me feel happy.." Virgil says.

"You may have felt included with us, but I didn't. Over and over again, I was shut down rather than talked to, or listened to. No, Virgil. I'm not hurting. Creativity was. Pride? Pride has nothing to be hurt about." Roman says.
"Roman, please! I know, you want to be... Heard, I know! But this..? This won't help you.. Hiding your pain isn't healthy.. Tell me with confidence, then, that this is what you want. To be seen as the villain instead of the hero. To be feared and not trusted by your best friends.. By me..." Virgil says, frowning.

Roman looked away, that hit him. "You don't understand. I'm doing what I must. If they won't listen to me with their trust, they'll listen to me with their fear."
"But then how does that make you any better than the other darksides?" Virgil asks. "Hah, why should it? Have you seen me, Virgil? I am a darkside, now. Why should I need to be better than my team? Of course, I already am, in every way."

Virgil teared up. "Roman, sto-hop.. Please, please! I know you're hurt, and don't fucking interrupt me... You're hurting... Look at yourself and tell me you're not.. Look at your eyes... Those tears.. You knew Pride is your alter ego, you're using it to hide your pain-.."

"Shut up, shut up!" Roman says, gritting his teeth and gripping at his hair. "I won't.. Roman, if this is who you want to be, then fine... But it's not... You want validation, you want to know you're still loved.. You want to be the hero, I know you do... Please... Don't make me..." Virgil trailed off.

"... You... You wouldn't... Virgil, I'd forget everything! I'd forget you, all the time we've spent together, every laugh, every smile, gone. You wouldn't.." Roman says, looking genuinely afraid and hurt.

"Y-you would remember eventually... Besides, Roman,... I can't stand to see you hurting this bad.." Virgil says. "I'll remember?? How would you know?!"
Virgil scoffs softly. "How many times do you think I've been reset?" Roman frowned. "Virgil-... But.. what if I don't remember? Ever?.."

"... Then you wouldn't be hurting anymore. And that won't be so bad, right..?" Virgil responded. "Virgil,..." Roman started, more black tears falling down his cheeks.
"Hey, I promise you'll get your memories of me back. I'll make sure of it, okay..? Besides, even if you don't, you fell in love with me once; I'm sure it can happen again.."

"Is that... Really what you want..?" Roman asked. Virgil shook his head. "No. Of course it's not. But Roman, right now, I'm thinking about what's best for you. If that means you have to forget everything, including me..." He trailed off.

Roman looked away, staying quiet for a moment before teleporting himself and Virgil to a fairly dark room, only lit up by a pool of what looked like glowing water.
He looked at Virgil just before stepping in and said, "Please take me to my room before I wake up. I don't want to know that this happened.." Virgil nodded in response.

"And... Please, don't let me forget about you.." Roman added. Virgil smiled sadly, walking up and kissing him for a moment. "I'll be the first person you see, Roman."
Roman sighs, looking down at the water. "... Does it hurt?" He asked. Virgil shook his head. "No. It's kinda... Calming, actually."

"... You think this is what's best for me?" Roman asked. Virgil nodded a little. "Yeah.. you won't remember anything that happened, so.. you'll be happier.." Roman sighs, deciding to step into the pool before he changed his mind.

Virgil had never seen what goes on when a side is reset, as he was usually the one thrown into the pool. Usually, also, by Janus.
But admittedly, it's kinda... Pretty. The water's glow changes colors based on who was in it- like red, right now, for Roman.

Virgil did what Roman asked, teleporting them both to Roman and Remus's room. He's not exactly the strongest side, so getting Roman onto his bed was a little challenging. He managed, though.
And, even though Virgil knows Roman doesn't remember him, god, does he look peaceful..

"Sup emo. What are you doing in here-.. Why.. is Roman..... Virgil-" Remus said as he walked in and saw the two.
Virgil put a finger up to his mouth, telling Remus to be quiet as Roman started to wake up. He looked at Virgil, and before he could say anything, Virgil simply says, "Hey, Princey."

".. Anxiety." Roman greeted back, looking a little apprehensive. Virgil smiles a little, giving a two-finger wave before teleporting to his own room.

".. What... Just happened?"
