It's been a week since the incident happened, my mom agreed to let me stay at home for awhile. Hey, those old doctor notes finally came to use.
My phone buzzed, it was a call. "Hello?" I answered it without checking the number.
"Wow, you answered this time.." A familiar voice said through the line.
"Cody, what the hell do you want?"
"Look, please, I need you to hear me out on what happened at the park."
"Bye Cody.." I went to reach for the end call button.
"Wait! Kayla please, you need to let me explain."
I hesitated to end the call and just sighed. I just wanted this all to be over, let's just get this over with.
I reached my remote and clicked the pause button on the movie I was watching and put my phone up to my ear again.
"Fine, but you have one minute before I hang up on you."
"Look, it was a rough week and she just came onto me. I couldn't help myself, you know how teenage guys are right?"
I rolled my eyes at what he said. "That's what you called to tell me, really? You're pathetic."
"Kayla-"
"Oh, and don't give me that I still love you bullshit, it's not gonna work. Don't bother ever talking to me ever again."
I hung up the phone and just plummeted my face in my pillow and screamed. I was so done with today, can I just fall asleep and then never wake up?
(1) you got a text from a blocked number: hey it's grayson, I'm not busy today if you wanna hang out at the coffee shop. I still wanna explain my side of the story. look, you can even punch me in the face when you first see me, idc. just wanna see you.

We sat across from each other in pure silence for awhile, both tapping our fingers on the table while whistling.
"When you left I was heartbroken.." He said.
I looked at him. "I sure you were." I said sarcastically.
"I really was. I couldn't sleep for days you know. For a moment I thought something happened to you, but then I found out that you just moved. I was more relieved but there was still this sense of emptiness that lingered."
I couldn't find any words to say, so I just kept silent.
"Hello guys welcome to Carasia's Coffee & Diner, what can I get for you guys today?"
"Just a Mocha Chiller with strawberry topping with three pumps of whipped cream." We both said at the same time.
We looked at each other and bursted out laughing.
"Okay, those will be right out!"
Then the waiter walked away. "Wow, you haven't changed at all have you?" he smiled.
"You haven't either, Gray." I smiled back.
"Geez, I haven't heard you call me that in so long."
My cheeks flushed when I realized that I called him Gray.
"Sorry, I was just caught up in the moment."
"No, no, I liked it." he chuckled.
As we were having our little moment someone walked in.
"Kayla, hey there you are."
I shut my eyes and and scrunched up my face and turned around to see Cody.
"Who the hell is this?" Cody look at Grayson.
"Her friend, who the hell are you?" Grayson stood up from his chair and narrowed his eyes.
"He cheated on me, he's my ex boyfriend." I crossed my arms.
"Wow, so basically he's a giant tool?"
"What did you just call me?" Cody clenched his fists.
"I called you tool, buddy." Grayson was clenching his fists too.
"You better take that back, you little-"
"Guys, stop!" I butted in.
"Kayla let's go." Grayson pulled me out of the shop.
"Thanks."
"Anytime." He unclenched his fists and we walked out.
