Over a week had passed since Vivian made her plan. She thought it over and had aligned everything to ensure a smooth process. She had already started part of her plan and looked forward to seeing it finished today. Nothing could get in the way of what she wanted. She finished applying blood-red lipstick to her velvet lips and rubbed them together. She grinned at herself in the mirror. Her icy blue eyes were enhanced with her jet-black eyelashes. The outfit she wore flashed all green and glistened with black jewels. Today marked an important date in her books. She ran her tongue over her teeth and grinned with malice into the glass. Vivian pushed the mask and watched it veil over her face. She admired how good she looked, how the green fabric made her blonde hair brighter. How the red lipstick made her skin more flawless. Vivian raised an eyebrow and smirked at herself. Let the games begin.
She headed to the outskirts of the large city. The city itself began to blossom into its true potential. Slowly, people had made it through the testing. Over seven hundred people had passed and were placed into training. They picked out houses and guards kept an eye on them. They were the society's test run. If everything went smoothly, more people would make their way into the city soon too. It was refreshing to see a few new faces on the streets. Soon she could address the city from the balcony of her office and oversee the people of the society. They could expand further and start new construction zones, new farms, new gardens, and ultimately a new start for the human race.
The thought gleamed like a shiny new penny in her mind. She laughed, pennies were such a useless thing. All money ever became was a trinket in Vivian's museum. How foolish the human race made itself to value paper and rotten coins. Vivian shook her head at the thought.
Vivian had chosen to use a car to get to the edge of the city. The outskirts were far away and walking would have taken too long. A chauffeur drove her over to her latest project in a sleek-styled old school car. She had already started its construction earlier but became eager for it to be completed now. A key to her plan lied in its finished construction. The large coliseum loomed in the distance.
When they arrived Vivian got out of the car. She grinned with pleasure. She loved the way it looked and how soon it would please her so much. She walked into its heart. The arena surrounded her on all sides. It sprawled out before her ready to welcome contestants and guests.
She could picture it now. The seats would be filled with people cheering on their favorite warriors, and she would be sitting in the forefront of it all. A golden throne to announce from and to sit on while embracing the glory of it all. The gladiators would battle below for the title of a champion. The loser would suffer at the hands of the winner. A murder in cold-blood all for a title. A wicked contest full of blood, sweat, and tears. The public would love it. One of the oldest and purest forms of entertainment.
Vivian laughed to herself. This show had to be the best entertainment. The arena was ready to welcome its guests and warriors, and Vivian found herself ready to watch. All she needed now was her hero. The very person to suffer on her behalf.
Vivian turned back around and headed out of the coliseum. For a special show all the tested could come out and watch. A little entertainment never hurt anyone, or did it?
Vivian scrunched her nose with pleasure at the thought. She got back in the car and asked to be driven to the military compound. It was on the opposite side of the city. The compound's location sprawled out behind the headquarters building. Acres of land dedicated to weapons, fighting, and protection training.
A strong military needed to be implemented at the very beginning of the plan for the new society. Force was how Vivian took over, it is how most rulers took over. She slowly gained a following and every area annihilated gave Vivian new soldiers and subordinates. At one point, she stood as the face of it. She led them into every battle. She loved her military. Sometimes she wished she could be back in armor more often. Living for the clashing of swords, the firing of weapons, the heat of anticipation. There was nothing quite like it. The sickening need to have flesh at the end of your spear. The army had always given Vivian what she needed, and right now she ended her hero in shining armor.
