A gentle breeze calmly drifted through the shop and across my face like a beautiful whisper as the small bell above the door rang to signal the entrance of a customer. I looked up from my book to meet the eyes of a boy pretty much the same age as me with the chocolate brown hair of his covering most of his eyes.

"Hi I was wondering if you sold any poppies?" He spoke when he came up to the cashier desk.
"I'm so sorry unfortunately we don't." I bit my lip out of disappointment as I felt bad whenever a customers wish wasn't fulfillable.
"Oh that's ok thank you anyway." With a slight smile he turned to walk out of the door before I called him.
"Wait! If you'd like I can show you a place full of poppies." A questionable look appeared on his face as I smiled trying to look as persuasive as possible.
"How can I trust you?"
"I don't know but you can find the answer to that question of yours if you choose to come along."
"Ok." He didn't look a hundred percent satisfied but I know he would love the surprise I had in store.

Quickly taking off my work apron,  I grabbed my small, red cardigan to put over my summer dress as well as making sure to pick up my keys before leaving the floral shop. We started to walk down the street when he asked,
"I don't even know your name but happily tagged along." A slight humour in his tone.
"Haha! My names Y/N and you made that decision yourself homeboy."
"Homeboy?" He laughed and I joined in. Something about his vibe made me comfortable to speak so freely in front of him.
"What about you what's your name?" I asked after managing to steady myself from all the laughter.
"Beomgyu, Choi Beomgyu." And he smiled an innocent smile.

Turning a corner we came to a short gate that led into a beauteous little garden filled with a variety of flowers that all looked so charming with their different colours standing up right towards the suns rays.

"Wow..." I watched from the side as I took in the scene of Beomgyu exploring the place that held such a deep meaning to me. I had never shared it with anyone other than a special someone who was hopefully looking down on me at this exact moment.
"Would you like to see something even more captivating?" I asked out of nowhere and he looked back at me with a puzzled face.
"What could be more captivating than this?" He replied whilst pointing to the sea of blooms.
"What you came to look for initially."

I took his hand as I guided him to a door at the back fence and slowly opened it to reveal the most enthralling sight one could possibly see. It was so perfect and enchanting that I felt myself on the brink  of tears. My grandmas favourite place in this world was the secret field over flowing with poppies that seemed to extend into the horizon.
"Y/N, OMG Y/N!" My thoughts were interrupted with a shriek of my name as I remembered I wasn't alone.
"Hey hey why are you crying?" The happy smile plastered on his face just seconds ago was replaced with a worrisome look as he took my face into his hands and wiped the tears away with the back of his thumb.

"Thank you for trusting me and coming along to see this place. I know we just met not that long ago but I need to get this off my chest - my grandma was a florist she loved flowers so much, they were her greatest happiness, that she made it into a job to sell them to make others as equally happy. She was my role model and since a young age I fell in love with flowers too but it wasn't until grandma bid goodbye that I actually took over her business. You might be wondering why this place is so important to her but well she loved poppies more than any other flower. She always said they were interesting with a single one holding a beautiful memory and a field full of them holding a lifetime of memories."

All while sharing my story Beomgyu didn't say a single thing but listened intensively until he moved forward to engulf us in a comforting hug.
"I'm sure she is immensely proud of you and wants to see you blossom even further through the rest of your lifetime." He took a step back and looked me in the eye as he smiled a genuine smile.
"I hope we can be good friends who make a lifetime of memories too, Y/N." Smiling back I bent down to pick up a poppy and handed it to him.

"I hope so too, Beomgyu."
