TXT just so happened to be the new boy group to take kpop by storm and you were fortunate to be really good friends with all 5 of them. Making this the first Christmas since their debut, they invited you to join in the celebrations and let's be serious here who'd miss that? Not me.
I was currently finishing the few last touches to the table decor with Soobin before heading into the living room to open the presents. "I'm really glad you came Y/N." "Soobin I wouldn't miss this for the world and plus its not like I have anyone hear in Seoul to celebrate with otherwise."
Quick side note: I'm a foreign exchange student and met the boys back in high school and kept in touch even after I went off to college and they debuted. My family are all back home and I do keep in touch with them but it's hard due to the time difference so they were over the moon to know I was at least not going to be completely alone on this festive day.
"Are you guys coming or what?!" We both laughed quietly to ourselves and walked into the lounge, sitting in a circle ready to give each other our gifts. We already opened our stockings this morning because we were all too eager. "Ok I'm going first! My presents are all from the depth of my heart so you best like it." Taehyun stated whilst side eyeing all of us as we unravelled the neatly wrapped gifts.
"Thank you", "thanks Tae", "thanks bro", "this is so cool thank you"; "omg taetae you didn't have to thank you so much". I pulled him into a quick hug before admiring the beautiful mini-bag in front of me. I can't believed he remembered from that time we went shopping and I couldn't keep my eyes off of it.
We spent a good half an hour giving and receiving presents between us and by the end of it I was crying tears of happiness and joy and questioning myself as to how I'd been blessed with amazing friends. Every gift was special in its own way.
"Good one Kai, Y/N's now crying". Yeonjun said. "Not my fault my gift was that great." He smirked at me and I laughed. "It's ok guys I'm just feeling really overwhelmed and I loved all your gifts." For a minute their was a comfortable silence but that didn't last long when Beomgyu got up and yelled "TIME TO EAT Y'ALL!" and rushed into the dining room.
I went into the kitchen to grab the dishes of endless food and of course mouthwatering beef! Yes you heard right I said beef. I've never been a fan of turkey and when I found out some of the boys weren't too keen on it either I came to the conclusion of whipping up something we all drool over: BEEF.
After placing the last dish I sat down between Yeonjun and Soobin and opposite Taehyun. Then we held hands and said a short prayer which was was done by Kai in both English and Korean: "I'm blessed to be able to spend the holidays here with all of you. Let us appreciate this meal in fellowship and celebration".
"Merry Christmas!" We toasted with whatever drinks we were each having and ate to our hearts contents. Looking around the table I smiled to myself. "We should take a photo after this." "Good idea." "Yeah definitely". "I'll get the camera". Beomgyu ran off to his room whilst the rest of us cleared up the table and packed away any left over food before putting all the cutlery, utensils, plates; cups into the dishwasher just in time to find the camera set up and ready to take what could become our Christmas card.
"Right I'm going to put a 10 second timer on so you best be ready by then." The six of us looking lost as ever scrambled around trying to find the best position to stand. "3....2....1.....say cheese!" "CHEESE!" The photo wasn't perfect but I liked it that way, made it look more real and in the moment.
- some time later -
After a long day of laughing, talking about anything & everything, playing games, taking selfies, eating food, and more food, and more food we were all huddled in the lounge watching Home Alone with hot chocolate and cookies. Christmas was definitely one to remember this year. I made memories I would cherish for a lifetime with 5 amazing people.
I turned to look out the window for a sec when I caught a glimpse of a shooting star and smiled, wishing ".... a Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."
