It's the next morning. Elizabeth wakes up and looks to her side. Not being able to see Callum or hear him, she figures that he has left for work. She gets out of bed, puts her slipper boots on and her cardigan. As she starts walking through to Aaron's room, she realises that she didn't clean up the smashed beer bottle from last night. She walks to the kitchen and gets the dustpan and brush, a damp rag and some spray bleach. She walks back to where the beer bottle is and starts cleaning it up.

'Mommy?' She hears. She looks up and sees Aaron.

'Be careful, there's glass.' Elizabeth warns her son. Aaron cautiously takes a few steps back.

'Why was daddy angry last night?' Aaron asks her. Elizabeth stops for split second before carrying on. 'I heard him shouting at you, and then I saw him. He was going to hurt you.' Elizabeth finished cleaning up the glass and dried beer and stands up.

'Let's get you some breakfast.' Elizabeth sighs. She walks through to the kitchen with Aaron following her. She chucks the glass in the bin and puts the dustpan and brush, bleach and rag away whilst Aaron sits at the table. She then pours him a bowl of cereal, tops it with milk, takes a spoon out and places them in front of Aaron. She then takes a juice box our of the fridge, puts the straw in and hands it to Aaron. 'Eat your breakfast and then we can talk about last night, okay?'

'Okay.' Aaron nods.

Half an hour has passed. Aaron has finished eating his breakfast and Elizabeth has woken up and fed Harper. She puts Harper in the baby bouncer in the living room and sits on the sofa with Aaron.

'What did you see last night?' Elizabeth asks him.

'I heard you come in and I wanted to come and give you a hug. But then I heard daddy shouting so I hid a little bit.' Aaron starts. 'I then saw him raise his fist like he was going to hurt you.' Elizabeth brings him in for a hug.

'Mommy's fine.' Elizabeth reassures him. 'He didn't hurt me.'

'What if he hurts me? Or Harper?' Aaron asks, clearly scared.

'I will make sure that doesn't happen.' Elizabeth responds. 'But if he ever does hurt you or Harper, you tell me straight away, okay?'

'Okay.' Aaron nods. 'What if he hurts you?'

'You do exactly what I taught you if something bad happens.' Elizabeth tells him.

'I call 911?' Aaron asks.

'Yeah.' Elizabeth smiles and nods.

'I'll protect you mommy.' Aaron wraps his arms around his mom. Elizabeth tries not to cry.

'Hey, I'm the one who's supposed to do the protecting around here.' Elizabeth laughs, wiping the few tears that have escaped from her eyes.

.

A few hours have passed. Elizabeth is walking into work, this time, she made sure she covered the bruise on her face. She sits at her desk, shrugs her jacket off and logs into the computer. Jay rolls over to her on his chair.

'Did you tell Callum?' He asks quietly.

'Yeah.' Elizabeth nods.

'How did he take it?' He questions.

'He's happy.' Elizabeth nods. 'Although I think we should look into buying a house.' She adds with a slight laugh.

'Have you told anyone from HQ yet? Or Voight?' He queries.

'Not yet.' Elizabeth shakes her head. 'I have a meeting with HQ in a couple of days and then I'll tell Voight.' Before Jay can ask her any more questions, he walks out of his office.
