oh look, it's me roasting legacies again because I recently made more revelations about this and how it could be better and I tend to focus on this rather than write for any of my books
- im still not convinced that Raf, Landon, and Kaleb (amongst any other new kids that have been or will be introduced) aren't that interested in the fact that Hope's a tribrid. like, where are the range of questions for her? (other than the pilot) or instead of getting an awkward conversation with her shooting you a dirty glare, they ask around the school and we see how the school thinks of Hope's tribridness, mentions to her parents, etc. or the fact that when she was erased from their minds and Lizzie introduced her and they said she was a were-witch, they just accepted it? like they weren't more curious about her background or something? i get they've been dealing with monsters for a while but it's still a hybrid creature that they should discus- like okay, the fact that they made MG a Ripper when the guy's never even tasted human blood since he first transitioned probably, he's barely a year or two old, so it makes sense that he would have trouble controlling himself, I mean remember when Alaric was a vampire in early S6? He couldn't control it well either.
- so, making him a Ripper is just stupid rather than just write him as a regular vampire figuring out control around human blood since he's almost never had it and is slowly easing his way there. Like Elena or Caroline, or hell even Damon, they all started out the same: trouble around human blood and eventually eased into a normal vampire. Even the Originals were like that once.
- can we talk about how the school has only been feeding the vampire students animal blood?
- I mean, okay, I get they don't want the vampires to be at 100% in case they need to take them down easily bc of an incident or something, but when those students graduate and go off into the world it'll be even harder for them to gain control around human blood since they never had a chance in the first place
- this also means in case they were the ones being attacked by a threat or something, they wouldn't be able to defend themselves to their full extent
- instead of intentionally weakening your kids, you should be teaching them control and the importance of human life so they won't go attacking anyone
