CHAPTER - 2 : KARTHI/GIRI

July 6 , Sunday:
"its exactly 10 in the night man let's begin . Lights..., ready, Camera..., ready, Action", shouted Karthi with camera on his shoulder.
"Hi everyone, good night to all. This greeting is not to make you sleep, it's to make you stay awake an hour extra, to horrify your dreams. This is "Residence of fear". Today in our show we are at the abandoned Grace palace in Santhom , near the santhom graveyard , built some 200 years ago. This palace is said to be haunted, that the reason we are here to give you another episode of our show." said the host of the show Giri ," those who watch news frequently will definitely know the graveyard . There is a creepy conspiracy theory around here about the strange missing dead body. A guy named Aravindh was buried here few day ago, along with him his gold ring was also buried. A few men working in the grave noticed it, as of their normal routine they dug the spot after a day to take the ring,for their luck they found the ring but for their surprise there was no body. Our team consulted an doctor to verify whether it normal for a body to decompose in one day, but it seems nobody can decompose within one day, it would take at least a month. Even the workers in graveyard say it is strange. Those who don't believe in myths and legends might say 'the body might have decomposed ', or,' someone might have stolen the body ', but we strongly believe that there is some strange power working around this. So without any delay we jump into the location to find the truth."
"take ok", said cameraman karthi ," let's go to the next scene." the camera rolled capturing the next set of footage.
The footage recorded was directly displayed inside the caravan were a guy monitored the shots and corrected karthi through walkie talkie.
"you might question us , 'what the hell are you doing in this palace for some dead body missing in the graveyard '. We have the reason, while we enquired about this missing the locals said that the spirit or soul of the dead person is still roaming around in this palace. A few people also stated that, 'the spirit in the palace is exactly like the dead guy '. For more clarification our team also got the death certificate of Aravindh (the missing dead person).so without any further ado we are going inside the palace with your company, let's go".
The team (4-5 people) was getting ready for the next set of shoot. They checked the building with thermal image camera, they could see nothing other than rats. Karthi and giri went into the building through a window in the side, which was the only way inside. It seemed like the building haven't seen any mankind for decades. It was more horrifying as it became dark. The camera was still rolling. A few rats were running because of the light they had. It was silent except for the sound of wind flowing through gaps creating a creepy noise.
When the cameraman was trying to take montage shots around the hall, he saw shadows at a distance slowly moving towards him. With an experience of five years in this field he has seen many creepy places, exorcism, even cannibals but this moment felt different. This was like his day-one, where he was so afraid about things around him. When the shadows moved closer he had a feeling in his spine which shocked him. When he turned to reach out Giri, he couldn't see anyone. His legs shivered, he shouted out for his colleague, he had no response, which made him decide to ask help from his team outside via walkie talkie. But he didn't when he heard a sound from the first floor. For a second he realized his own potential and rejected his own opinion of asking help. He approached the room from which he heard the sound. It became darker and darker when he moved ahead. The only source of light was the torch which he had. He could hear frightened rats running away .when he reached for the handle of the door, slowly it opened automatically. The room was dark but still brighter than the hall way. When the door opened fully he froze in fear, Giri the host of the show was hanging in a rope attached to the ceiling. His legs were 3 feet above the ground, with his tongue half way out. Above all the look in his face with wide opened eye frightened him the most.
When he saw beyond Giri he saw Aravindh (the missing dead body), standing slightly behind Giri, Karthi literally submerged in his sweat. When he tried to step behind Aravindh moved forward from the dark. Karthi's blood pumped faster with adrenaline but still he couldn't move or even feel his body, he was glued to his spot. When Aravindh moved Giri's hanging leg and approached him, he shouted out of fear.
The team outside the building preparing for shoot hear the scream. Some ran to the window , the rest ran to the caravan . When they switched on the monitor screen they saw the camera lying on the ground. There was no movement for few seconds. They tried to reach to Karthi's walkie ,suddenly a body fell from the sealing hanging in rope. All of them were shocked , some even screamed when they clearly saw the face of the person hanging, it was Karthi.
