Anya knew she had to get off the train as soon as possible. If the train stopped at the next station like it was supposed to, and Gleb went to talk to the driver she could try to get out through the windows.
The last ten minutes had been filled with nothing but silence, and Anya knew she had to do something. She stood up from her seat, and walked to the aisle. The train car had been locked, and she was alone, so she wanted to try the windows.
All of the windows but a small one that she definitely wouldn't be able to fit through were locked, so Anya started pacing and thinking. She could try to pick the lock on one of the larger windows, or see if there was a window somewhere else that she could get to without being seen.
Anya tried the door that led to the dining car, which was also locked. Gleb had been watching from the passenger car next to hers ever since she stood up, and since she was trying to escape, he unlocked the door and stepped into her car.
"Sit down." He said, his voice cold. When Anya turned to look at him, then went back to the door, he walked over to her. "I said sit back down."
Anya protested, her excuse being that she was hungry and wanted to go to the dining car. Gleb continued to refuse her protests, so she sat back down.
As soon as Gleb left the car, she shot back up and went back to the door. She kept banging on it, and then it sprang open. Anya must have broken the lock. Anya stepped into the dining car, and she walked over to the food stores for tea and some bread.
The door opened again, and an irritated Gleb stepped in. "Anya, what are you doing?" He asked. Anya simply sat down at a table and started eating, completely ignoring him.
"Anya," He called again, but was once again ignored. Anya finished eating her small meal and moved her dishes, and then walked through the unlocked door to the bathroom.
Gleb waited patiently for her to come out, but after it had been a half an hour he knocked on the door. Not a single sound came from within. He opened the door and there was no one there. The window was open and Anya was gone.

Anya was running. She ran through the forest and towards where Gleb got on the train. She wasn't really paying attention to the terrain she was running on, so when she tripped on a log and fell, she wasn't expecting to be caught.
"You're that street sweeper from a few weeks ago." A man Anya recognized said. The man who caught her stood her back up and stepped away. "Do you remember me? I'm Vlad."
Anya did in fact remember the two men standing in from of her. "I'm Anya." She said, dusting herself off. Vlad nodded and then introduced the other, younger, man. "This is Dimitri." She sat down on the log she tripped over to catch her breath.
"What are you two doing in the woods?" She asked, still out of breath. "You're wounded. Let me help you." Anya said to Dimitri. She stood up and walked over to him.
"Who were you shot by?" Anya asked, "And why?" She thought that it might have just been a gunfight, but neither of them had guns she could see.
"Anya, we were almost executed earlier. We've been running since." Anya gave a little gasp, then walked over to the small bag that was next to Vlad. She dug through it, and didn't find anything. "What about you?"
"I was on a train heading to Paris when a Bolshevik got on the train who recognized me. We were friends and he thought I betrayed him, so he made everyone get off the train to take me back to St. Petersburg. I escaped and ran back to the Polish border."
Anya didn't know what types of reactions she was expecting, but Dimitri rolling his eyes surprised her. "Look, I know you were just shot but that doesn't mean you have to be a complete brat." Anya snapped.
Dimitri stood up while Vlad tried to push him back down. "I don't care who you are, little girl. I just care about getting straight out of Russia." Anya huffed, about to give her comeback when Vlad pushed them apart.
"We need to go. They almost certainly sent someone from the office we were just at to find Anya here." Vlad said, trying to break up their fight. Anya started to walk away, then walked back, slapped Dimitri, then walked away.
Dimitri put his hand to his cheek, a stunned look on his face. "Did she just..." He trailed off, completely dumbfounded. Vlad shot Dimitri a look saying 'sit back down right now," and walked over towards Anya.

I'm so sorry I missed the last update. I've got some stuff going on, and I'm running out of chapters I've written, so the next update isn't going to be in a week, it'll be in two.
