Keith Adiv sighed as he continued to gaze out the car window. The snow came down in flurries around their car as they headed further north for his Nana's house. His father was driving and his mother sat in the passenger seat humming to a Christmas tune. His older sister was in the window seat opposite to him listening to her own iPod as his younger sister sat in the middle singing out of tune with the same Christmas tune mom was humming to while pretending to make her bunny doll to dance.
Keith just sat there with his elbow perched on the window edge laying his head on his arm glancing out the window. Keith hadn't been to his Nana's for nine years. The economy was bad and it was hard to save up the money but finally this year we were able to go for Christmas.
However now that he was sixteen he really didn't feel like going. He just wanted to stay in his room and watch horror movies all night long. Fucking figures that he'd be dragged into this.
After about a seven hour drive of utter misery they finally arrived at a very large wood cabin. His Nana stood there on the porch with a warm smile on her wrinkled face. The little kid in him was happy to see her. There was just something about this that lightened his mood, but only a little.
They all got out and walked to the house. Keith's little sister, Erin, ran to her and hugged her. His sister was two when she last saw her. Keith's older sister, Minnie, just hugged her and went inside, she was twelve when she last saw Nana.
Keith kissed her on the cheek and she hugged him, “Look at you. A strong young man just like your grandfather when I first fell in love with him.” She started to giggle.
Keith rolled his eyes but smiled warmly, “Nana, as much as I love these stories, I'd prefer to keep you love life a mystery. It's more fun.”
His Nana patted him on the cheek, “Alright, alright, get inside young man.”
Keith was told time and time again by relatives that he looked just like his grandfather. It was cool to know but sometimes it was also creepy. Like when Nana started to reminisce...
Keith went inside and was greeted with the smell of gingerbread and cinnamon. Okay, he didn't mind missing the Horror spectacular on Syfy now. His mother and father came in followed by Nana.
However, a voice from within the house down the house stopped him in his tracks, “Hey, Mrs. Shire, I fixed the Christmas lights.”
A young man came down from the ladder leading to the loft, his short soft white hair waved around his features as his soft blue eyes glittered. He was a full head taller than Keith and had a tawny complexion. Dressed in a long-sleeved white cashmere shirt with a red scarf, white gloves, black pants and black winter boots he was extremely handsome.
Nana laughed lightly, “Well, thank you, Dov Gaines! You're always such a big help!” She reached to pull his head down a laid a kiss on his cheek.
Dov smiled softly, “Of course, Mrs. Shire.”
Keith took a step forward, “Wait, Dov Gaines? From the stone house down the road from here?”
Dov turned to look at a very yummy looking young man. He had soft shaggy black hair that fell just to his shoulders and stormy gray eyes. His skin was silken smooth and a beautiful creamy color. He wore a black button up turtle neck that was unbuttoned to show a white turtle neck with no sleeves underneath, black cloth armlets that reached up to his biceps yet flowed past his hands and black slacks with dark gray combat boots. He was shorter than Dov but still handsome. However he'd never touch him, he only wanted his Mickey Malice. Though he'd never see him again he didn't care.
