I stood at the door of my childhood if you could even call it a childhood prepared to knock. "Just do it Ava you're here for Jeremy" I whispered to myself trying to gain some bravery. Right as I was about to knock the door opened revealing a man I didn't know. "Who are you?" I asked?

"Alaric Jenna's boyfriend?" He looked at me suspiciously. "And you?"

"Ava?" My aunt gasped coming to the door holding her side as if she was in pain. "I smell blood majesty" Adramelech whispered to me. I hummed telling him I heard him can't have the town thinking I'm crazy again. "Jenna it's been awhile" I commented not feeling comfortable around her so called boyfriend.

"Well I'm going to go" Alaric said before bending down to give Jenna a kiss on the cheek "I'll see you tonight okay"

My aunt smiled like a schoolgirl and nodded, biting her lip. Cute.

As soon as he left she invited me in. "Why are you here Ava?" She asked moving to take a place on the couch. I noticed prescriptions on the coffee table and gauze.

"Are you hurt? what happened?" I asked analyzing her.

She scoffed "please don't pretend to care about me Ava and tell me what you are doing back" i sighed and sat down next to the women who had a part in raising me.

"Aunt Jen I didn't want to leave but I had to." I tried to explain. But the look on her face told me she didn't care.

"The last time I saw you, you were trying to take Jeremy. I don't want a repeat." A frown settled on my face as I remembered the last time Jeremy called me. Our parents died

"I wasn't trying to take him but mystic falls is a death sentence he is better off with me." I almost growled. I wanted my brother back.

"You don't have custody of him," she smiled.

"We can bring the courts into this if you like Jenna I'm willing to fight." I said standing up.

"Like they let a twenty year old have custody" she scoffed.

I smiled wickedly "I'm twenty but I also have an impressive income and finished my college education."

She glared at me as I walked toward the door "I don't want to fight you Jenna. But I'm not leaving my brother again" I said before leaving. I was getting no where with her, by the end of the year Jeremy and I will be living in New Orleans enjoying the life I created.

After I left, I found a cute little apartment. It had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a cute open layout. To say I was happy was an understatement it was a place that Jeremy and I  could both feel comfortable in and have our own space. Reminding me I need to meet him at the Salvatore boarding house. I quickly left with out signing the lease considering I had nothing in the apartment yet it didn't seem important.

I jumped in my car prepared for anything this meeting could bring " are you sure about this my queen" Adramelech asked. I smiled knowing he was the only person or being could ever fully trust he kept me from feeling alone even though he was only red mist or in my head.
