So, now that we've covered some key issues, I thought we could go over the 2020 presidential candidates and summarize their views. Let's start with the most obvious: Donald Trump.

Donald Trump

Donald trump wants to reopen the country to help the economy and believes in herd immunity when it comes to coronavirus. He plans on putting tax cuts into place in order to fix the economy post-pandemic. When it comes to abortions, Donald Trump wants to ban all late term abortions, unless the pregnancy will endager the woman, or unless the fetus is nonviable. In regards to the the economic status of the U.S., he has created 400,000 manufacturing jobs, 4 million jobs in general, and has created the lowest unemployment rate for women in America. When it comes to national debt, we are at an all time high of 27 trillion, and the record was broken at 22 trillion before the pandemic even started. Donald Trump has put an act into place that shortens mandatory minimum sentencing and advocates for inmate vocational training in prisons, but private prisons have also profited immensley off of the Trump Administration by detaining mass amounts of immigrants. Donald Trump is opposed by some due to his so-called lack of respect for individuals that disagree with him, but when it comes to politics, there has been good and there has been bad since his presidency began in 2016.

All in all, the country is very divided when it comes to their opinions of President Donald Trump, and now it's up to you to decide how you feel about him.

Joe Biden

Joe Biden is the former Vice President of the United States. The country is also very divided when it comes to their opinions of this candidate. Joe Biden is a democrat, and leans left on almost all views. When it comes to abortion, he is against all late term abortions, unless the woman's life or health is endangered by the pregnancy, but believes the choice is up to the woman otherwise. When it comes to the economy, he plans to raise corporate income taxes but keep them below their 2017 rate. Joe Biden also wants to raise the capital gains taxes because the low rates are believed to disproportionally benefit the wealthy. While on the subject of taxes, former Vice President Joe Biden wants to raise the federal taxes of upper-income Americans making more than $400,000 US dollars annually. He is against private prisons and wants to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing at the federal level. While Joe Biden is credited by his supporters for being "classier" when it comes to handling opposing opinions, some claim he is not competent enough to be president.
