I slowly open my eyes taking in a deep breathe, I feel as though I am a human teddy bear. I try to move a bit but his grip is just too tight. I roll my eyes although I know he usually comes over to my side only when he isn't able to sleep. Maybe I should buy him one of those giant teddy bears from Costco to sleep next to so that I can get up before him for once.
I attempt to pull his arm off of me but I end up just waking him up.
"Morning." He mumbles loosening his grip abit. I chuckle at how much of a non morning person he is and get out of his grip. He then mumbles something else but I don't really hear. I've never been able to hear much at all out of my left ear ever since Henry.
Henry..
The mention of his name in my thoughts doesn't really put me in a nice place. Especially since he was a year older than me, which means he's legal now and can do whatever he wants. Although I know his chances of coming back are super slim... I still have my doubts, and that truly scares me.
"You okay Aud?" Noah asks as we both realize I've been standing right beside the bed staring at the wall ahead for way too long.
"Yeah, I just remembered I forgot to tell Liam that I needed him to help me out with my car." I lie. Although Noah and I are very close, I don't want to get his morning on a bad start or have him start to worry about me. I've always been good at lying. I wonder if I was meant to act or something by just how convincing I can get sometimes. But then again, my talent for hiding my emotions didn't end up leaving me in the best state.
"I can always help you out too if you want." He offers while getting out of my bed and putting on his shirt. I'm jealous by how normal it is for a guy to sleep shirtless every night.
"No, it's good. Liam likes cars a ton anyway." I say. Although I was lying, my car was a pretty old beat up Jeep Cherokee that somehow always had engine problems and Liam did really like cars. He's going to college to be a car engineer.
Ever since my mom became a single parent, she always tried giving Liam and I the best. We definitely weren't the poorest people but we weren't exactly very rich compared to the mansions that live a little closer to the coast.
"Whatever you say then Aud. What do you want to do for breakfast?" He asks.
I place my hand on my chin. "Hmm... how about we make a quick bowl of cereal and then head to the pier." I suggest. The pier is sort of my safe haven.
"Sounds good to me, but I say we drive there and make a cereal picnic on the sand." Noah states smiling.
"Perfect." I answer. I walk towards my closet and pick out an outfit to wear today.
Noah decides to take a quick shower before we go and I change into a loose fitted tank top and shorts. I don't really feel like putting on any makeup, and I let my natural waves stay the way they are. Before I head downstairs I take out the familiar plastic container and a water bottle from my nightstand and pop the right amount of contents from the plastic container into my mouth. I then take some water so nothing gets stuck into my throat. That would be horrible. When I finish with that I go down stairs to get together all of our breakfast things.
Just as I am taking out Noah's favorite sugary Cinnamon Toast Crunch, my mom comes downstairs in her work clothes.
"Morning mom." I chirp as I get out a thermos for her coffee.
