*new beginnings*

I do admit that walking in a straight line through a huge forest was quite boring, but it's better than being stuck in a purple wasteland.

It had been a few weeks since I passed the city, and the constant walking was not only getting boring, but it was also very stressful on my legs.

I was also hungry.

Very hungry.

There was nothing to eat here, and for some reason, I did not think to pack food. Sometimes my idiocy is laughable. But whatever, what's done is done, and I have to keep walking forward!

I try to be an optimistic person, I really do, but it has been very hard recently. With the whole exile thing and all.

As I was thinking I stumbled into an object, a peice of loose leaf paper, pretty ironic. They seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere.

"Oh, Sorry!" The paper said. I wonder where he is going, and why he is so far I the forest. Does he live around here?

I shrug it off and keep moving. I would've introduced myself, but he had already dissapeared into the distance. No point in thinking about it now, just keep moving forward.

I walked for a few more minutes before I came across a large clearing with a nice stream of clear water. I sigh and sit down by the stream, taking off my boots and letting my feet dip into the water.

It was nice and peaceful, the birds chirping above me, as the leaves rustle in the wind. I could've fallen asleep right here, but that would be very uncomfortable, and I can't imagine how much pain my back would be in when I wake up.

I take my feet out of the water, but don't put my boots back on. I find a dry spot close to the stream and lay down. It was cold, autumn turning the leaves pretty shades of red, orange and yellow.

I close my eyes, letting myself relax. Tomorrow I may find some sort of civilization. At least I hope so, I'd hate to wander alone forever. I could also see what the deal with that paper was.

"Alliance, remember?"

That day, how simple it was back then. When all I had to worry about was what the next challenge would be. When they were all my friends. Before I made the mistake that changed everything.

It was sunny as I watched my younger self team up with her, Pin. She was bossy and quite rude, but young me saw something else in her. She had a sweet side, I just had to find it.

And find it I did.

We spent lots of time together between challenges. Staring at the stars, wondering what would happen if either of us won.

When she got eliminated it was pretty lonely. It was quiet, so quiet. So I started going to the TLC to talk to her. The other eliminated contestants got quite annoyed, but eventually got used to it.

I had told her that if I won the island, I would let her in, and we could live together like we always talked about. She loved the idea.

I stopped visiting her when I became friends with Firey, maybe it was because I forgot, or that I replaced her. I felt really bad about it when I saw her again.

Maybe I did deserve to be locked from the island.

Maybe that's why she was so eager to kill me. She never cared about the island, she cared about the friend who left her to rot alone in the TLC for two years.

I'm an awful friend.

They were right to try and kill me.

I deserved it.

I still do.

My eyes opened, beams of sunlight shining through the gaps in the leaves, hitting my face.

I yawned as I got up, the dream slipping my mind for the time being. I sat up and put my shoes back on, mind still completely waking up.

As I rubbed my eyes, finally fully awake, I saw a figure watching me in the bushes. We made eye contact for a second before they hid in the leaves.

"Hello??" I called, curious about who could be spying on me. Were they planning on killing me, or just curious?

The figure made it's way out of the Bush. They were a short, red balloon.

"Don't be afraid, I'm just surprised to see someone like you all by yourself out here." He seemed anxious, his hands fidgeting around as he jumped from one foot to the other.

"Who are you?" I tilt my head, I really didn't want trouble, or to start a fight, but I was curious to find out who this object was.

"My name is Balloon, what's yours?"

I hesitate for a moment. I just met this object, who knows what he is capable of. Can I really trust anyone while out here? Is it smart?

Where did he come from? Does he have anything to do with the paper I saw yesterday? What is he doing out here?

Then again, what am I doing out here? Why am I in the forest? Why am I questioning him when I am in the exact same situation?

"A-are you okay...?" Balloon asked, his eyes narrowed in concern. Crap! I must of spaced out.

I sigh, I might as well trust the balloon, he seems genuinely concerned, and it would be nice to have someone to talk to.

"Leafy, my name is leafy"

Weird chapter I know.

There will most likely be slow updates for this story, considering my parents are getting a divorce, my deteriorating mental state, and online classes. This story will most likely be put on the back burner most if the time.

That doesn't mean I'm going to stop updating this though, I love writing, as it helps me calm down, and I also really want to see what direction this book goes.

Also it is just my personal headcanon that Leafy and Pin were actually friends for more than five minutes. I mean come on, you can not make an episode about their alliance and then completely forget about it for the rest if the series. I also think that their friendship and alliance had a lot of wasted potential.

Also also, inanimate insanity baby! I decided to include it because I love myself some crossovers. And you can not tell me that Balloon and Leafy would not be friends.

Thanks for reading another terrible chapter!
