Before I say anything else, please add The Gemini, the sequel to this book, to your library!
Thank you so much for finishing The Gate! Seriously, I can't tell you how much it means to me that you took the time to read every chapter I've put out. I came to Wattpad out of boredom from quarantine, but I have completely fallen in love with creative writing and I would love to get better at this. I have so much room to improve and so many stories I want to tell! Don't fret, because there is so much more to come! So, without further ado, what comes next for...
... Me? Good question. I've been putting writing on hold since The Borderverse Awards, but as soon as it wraps up, I'm going to work on rewriting my first book, Chessboard, which will be retitled as Blackout.
... The Forbidden novels? That's right! Novels, plural. I am planning for this to be a trilogy. I actually have a pretty good idea of the plots of the next two books, but obviously writing takes time. I will eventually return to this book for some much-needed editing and revising, as well as some new graphics. I am also planning for a side story all about Lanier Labs and mermaids, with all new characters and some familiar cameos. There also might be some prequels that will delve deeper into the backstories of some of our favorite (and least favorite) characters. Right now, I have six total Forbidden novels planned.
... Jacob Wilde? I know that Jacob seemed like a very random addition to this story, but that's because his character isn't ready to take center stage yet. There is a Spellbound series planned that is going to follow some of the ex-child stars of the show when they discover that the magic of TV was real and is haunting them in real life. Jacob just happened to get caught up in the supernatural sooner than his castmates.
... The Society? Not quite the Agency, but certainly just as interesting. The Society has one goal: to make sure that as few people learn about magic as possible. There's no Mist in the Borderverse, so someone's gotta do it! A trilogy surrounding the Society is being planned, with new characters and one familiar face!
... Blackout? My first novel was what I would describe as a lovable hot mess. I've reread it recently, and there are a lot of things that I don't think work. The biggest problem is that the first draft, which was until about chapter 17, was written several years ago. Then I was like, "let's publish this on Wattpad while doing minimal revising and then just tack on an ending!" (like an idiot). The plot in my head from a couple months ago and years ago were very different, and the result was... well... a mess. Don't get me wrong, it was my first ever book and I'm very proud of myself for stringing that many words together and sharing it with the internet, but I think I know how to do it right this time.
... The Blackout Series? What's this? A four book series that follows the events of Blackout? You better believe it. Flames is the first book of that series. That's all I'm saying for now.
... The Borderverse? A lot of the stuff I write is connected. There are a billion little things that I have planned for this little world of mine, and everything I listed is me just getting started. I'm not superhuman, and this is going to be a slow process, but I hope that you stick with me to see all that the Borderverse has to offer. Trust me, this is just the beginning. The sequel to this book specifically, The Gemini, is out now.
Happy reading, and thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
