"Um, but our sizes..."
"I have two pairs of big basketball shorts that are in a pretty big size."
"How did you buy the wrong size?"
"I like to sleep in baggy clothes."
"Well, I'm that case I'd really appreciate it..."
She opened the door to the kitchen, before turning around.
"You coming?"
"Why the kitchen?"
"There's a door at the back that goes right to my entryway so I don't need to step foot outside."
"That's really convenient- oh wow."
"Awesome kitchen right?" She asked. Granite countertop island, flip up ovens, shiny clean pots and pans, wooden spoons, all te things she could ever need.
"Yeah. Wow, how many things can you turn out at once?"
"Definitely a lot. But I don't think foot traffic will be anything crazy. I don't want it to be either."
"I kinda like that idea. More food for me?"
"Sure, I don't want all the stuff to go bad... you can be guinea pig number one. Just give me a little critique."
"Guinea pig?"
"The other three guys made their preferences clear. "
She motioned for him to take off his shoes and he did just that, following her up the stairs and ignoring the fact that his face was almost in her butt.
"Is it okay to bring a guy into your house?"
"Sure. I don't live with anyone."
"I mean you're... you know what you should just be careful not to tempt anyone too much."
"Oh."
She owned the door.
"Welcome to the best apartment ever. Not a duplex unless you count the roof."
"Roof?"
"Yeah. Roof. You can get there from my awesome balcony."
"Wow, all this stuff is so nice."
"I got a lot of money as... investment."
Taishiro nodded. He wasn't sure how Yamamoto-san operated outside of her and police interactions, but well, things seemed to be working out.
"The washroom is just over here. If you want you can take a shower since you worked up a bit of a sweat and got all tiny again."
"I'm not tiny, just less round. Ah, I'll shower actually... thanks."
"Still very huggable. I'll knock with the clothes once you're done. Call me if you need anything."
"Alright. Thanks."
"No sweat... I mean I guess you're sweating a lot."
He chuckled awkwardly.
He smells pretty bad at the moment.
While he was showering and sniffing himself, Akiyo was facing a big problem. Underwear? She had the shorts, but sort of kind of didn't have a shirt quite big enough for him. Even if the shorts were big on her, she was a lot smaller than Taishiro. Who was a giant.
The shower head probably wasn't tall enough for him. Dammit.
She went and knocked.
"Ah, thanks-" he said, opening the door with a towel around his crotch.
"I don't think I have a shirt that will fit you so you'll have to wear this trench coat for now."
He took the clothes with a thank you, and after minutes of struggle, he peeked out the door.
"Akiyo?" He called. The said woman came from around the corner, ponytail up and apron on her body.
"Sorry, I went to prep lunch... do the pants not fit?"
"It's not that... this trench coat is actually too small..."
"Oh... I don't have any shirts near your size... darn, I should have bought the biggest sweater after all..."
"It's okay, I'll just wear my hero suit- actually never mind."
Yup... there was a big hole in the back he'd have to get fixed. I can go out and buy you a shirt?"
"I'd actually really appreciate that..."
"Can I do a rough measure of your body?"
"H-Huh?"
"Just so I know what size you are."
Nope nope nope, don't even think about taking that the wrong way.
"Okay."
He opened the door wider, revealing a shirtless and toned body. Without his extra fat, his muscles were rather defined.she was unfazed by either form though, not saying he should stay in one or the other.
He liked that about her-
Did she just wolf whistle?
"Damn you've been working. Guess that's because you're a hero after all," she said, holding her arm up and trying to stand up on her tippy toes to measure how wide his shoulders were. He crouched down with a little chuckle. The shorts were a bit tight, but not uncomfortable.
"I hate being short sometimes," she said.
"Is that why I saw theee stools in your kitchen downstairs?"
"Partly."
"Mm."
He smiled.
"While you're here,. Grate the cheese and cut some peppers real thin cross wise. I'll be back real quick."
"Make sure you lock the-"
She disappeared.
"-door..."
He went to the kitchen and started grating some cheese. What wa she making for lunch? There was a bowl of some gooey stuff that was growing out fo the plastic wrap. It might be some creepy concoction. Her oven was also heating something, but he figured he shouldn't be peeking around.
He ended up staring at some art on the wall...
By the time he was done, he wasn't sure what to do. Like, at all.
The doorbell rang, taking him out of his thoughts. Had she forgotten to take her keys? No, then she wouldn't be locked out. Maybe her hands are full.
He heard it ring again and he hobbled down the steps.
He opened the door.
"Oh."
The mailman blinked, holding out a package.
"For Hariyama Akiyo."
